Tavern Mingle (INSIDE) | OPEN
Who: EVERYONE
Where: The Dark Lantern Tavern!
When: 1/15/16 -1/18/16 - The duration of the event!
Rating: Probably PG-13, will vary by thread.
Summary: Let's go to this creepy tavern and ask for some directions! A log for staying nice and dry inside.
The Story:

For the duration of the event, the mansion has become a dingy tavern. It has two floors, the bottom being the main tavern and the upper floor has six bedrooms with one bed and one magic closet in each room for everyone to fight over, unless they don't mind sleeping on the floor or in the tavern somewhere. With the amount of people in Wonderland, everyone is cramped together and it will be very crowded. The closets will work, however they will only provide clothing and items from time periods long gone (though they do not seem to be bound to any particular time period). There are no employees to be found in the Tavern, but there's a working kitchen with a wood fire stove and enough food and drink for everyone to last the entire event comfortably. There's even a stage with musical instruments to entertain yourselves with! There's no electricity, but plenty of candles and lanterns around.
For the entire length of the event, it will be dark outside. In addition to the never-ending night, it will pour for four days straight, and it will all seem rather ominous once it becomes apparent the sun isn't coming out. Pretty much all signs will suggest that everyone should stay in the tavern and eat, drink, and be merry with their stupid new names. But it really is tight quarters, and some might be curious to see what else is out there. Maybe there's another place to stay out there, or something. Maybe the Beast Alice spoke of is out there.
(Lost? Perhaps you're looking for the outside log or the event information.)

I know. We'll have to help them...
[And she's right. If she asked him to stay inside while she went out there, there's no way he would not follow her anyway. He's glad she doesn't expect that of him, and nods again.]
Yeah, I promise.
no subject
So. What kind of game? What do you want to play? I spy?
[She smirks just a little, relaxing some with him right where she can see him.]
no subject
Well, cards is definitely out, [he thinks, as he raises his hand slightly to gesture at how crowded it is,] so all we can play is I spy. You wanna go first? It's your idea.
no subject
I spy with my little eye something gray.
[She’s expecting to get to say ‘no’ a lot, but then again, she may just as well be surprised.]
no subject
[He shrugs with a little smile, though. It's not a big deal really. And then glances around a little. He's played this tons of times when he was smaller and learned to follow the direction of where the spy's head moves so he tries retracing that path when he glances around.
His attention is drawn to older man dressed with a graying beard like his dad once had, first, and pointedly nods his head over in that direction.]
Um, gray, something gray... Do you spy, uh, his beard?
no subject
Nope. Good guess though. It isn’t hair.
no subject
Okay, then what about, um-
[This time he scans the whole length of room, paying mind to everything gray, before noticing a boy around his age and stopping his gaze on him. It's then he remembers The Samurai saying something about someone his age when he first arrived and turns his gaze up curiously back to her.]
That kid? [He looks at her almost as if he were asking her "That the one you were talking about before?" instead.]
no subject
Only two guesses, who do you think you are, me?
no subject
I just know you. Besides I remember what you said about knowing another kid.
no subject
[She doesn’t think The Author would mind, but she’ll let it be Carl’s call.]
no subject
Right now?
[After all, he had not been expecting this game to turn into a round of socializing and making new friends so he is not completely sure but neither completely opposed to the idea if the answer is 'yes'.]
no subject
Only if you want to. But now you at least know what he looks like, if you’d rather meet him on your own time. Besides, it’s my turn anyway, we can keep playing for now if you want.
[She’s been scanning the room for hours, so she’s hoping she can impress him by not even having to really look to know what he gives her to ‘spy.’]
no subject
Yeah, I think I'll do that. Meeting him when it's not so crowded.
[And nods again because you bet they're still playing. Carl scans the whole room for a whole minute, seeing a person wearing red heels (he thinks it's clever choosing something more to the ground than straight ahead!), but looking over it once or twice before saying anything.]
I spy, um... something red.
no subject
Fancy handkerchief over there?
no subject
Carl looks where she means and grins to himself, shaking his head.]
Nope. It isn't that. That's pretty cold.
no subject
[She looks toward another person.]
The red head over there?
no subject
[He grins wider, all in good fun, though. He almost wants to say where she should be looking and how she should focus on objects/clothing again but he holds it in.]
It's not red hair either.
no subject
[Taking a deep breath, she makes a show of letting it out slowly, then focus again, closing her eyes and then opening them again with a brand new ‘clarity.’]
The red shoes.
no subject
He snickers a little at her display as he waits, though, and looks at her in surprise when she guesses it right this time.]
Wow, that's- You got it. How'd you guess?
no subject
I struck out looking up high, so I went low. Turns out I was right. That was a good one, though.
no subject
Yeah, it's a trick I used all the time when playing with someone. Sometimes people never could guess.
no subject
[Just a little tip that he may or may not ever need in the future. One never knows when they need to be hidden. Both in this world, and their own.]
