Summary: Shooting stars have fallen in Wonderland, and they're bringing with them glimmers of Wonderyears past! A catch all log for the fallen star holograms.
The Story:

Each glittering, golden star brings the woosh of a sonic boom and there are impacts that shake the whole world. They crash hard into the snow, the trees, and even break through a few windows. None of them leave behind meteors or space debris, but instead just a glimmering cloud at each point of impact. In each gold light is a projection, a scene lit by starlight and moondust, a memory of years ago. Even if someone were to be struck by one, it would simply pass through them.

These are just the first stars to fall. More will come the next night, and the night after that, and perhaps even more. When budding astronomers look upward, they will notice fewer and fewer constellations dot the night sky with each passing day.

All memories are semi-opaque, and will play in a loop in one spot the whole time. Most stars will have landed somewhere on the grounds, but some might have crashed through a window, playing their memory inside the mansion. Characters can listen to and watch the scenes as many times as they like, but they will be unable to influence or interact with the memories in any way.

[ elena tips her head to the side as she considers his observation. she's still too new to know if there's been an influx or not, but now that he mentions it, she wonders if all these arrivals means something. if it means the core had started to run out of batteries, so to speak. ]

My mistake! [ though there's still a faint smile twitching on her lips. she still has her suspicions, mind. ] Whoever they were, they can rest assured that your manners have gone nowhere. [ that was a very nice bow, brennan. a+ ]

Well, with the amount of time and effort they spent drilling them into me, I should hope not. [ He chuckles at that, crossing his arms over his chest and regarding her. ] Do people not have manners where you come from?

[interpersonal]

[ she gives a small laugh. ]

No, they do. It's just ... [ small towns like the ones elena comes from certainly place a lot of emphasis on propriety and image. and then there's the salvatores... ] They're a little different. I guess that's what happens when you bring people to Wonderland from all kinds of places.

[ at least elena's century and geographical space seems to be well-represented. ]

[ It gets a laugh from him at that, a bemused expression flitting across his face. ]

We certainly do have a wide and varied range of very strange places represented here, it's true. I learn stranger and stranger things every day here, it seems.

[interpersonal]

You're accepting of the differences, though. [ it's almost a question, aside from being an observation. ]

If you'd told me a month ago that I'd suddenly find myself in a pocket dimension a world away, I wouldn't have believed you. It would be beyond strange. But I believe it now. [ and sometimes, that's the important thing. belief. ] And I think that's how we'll find a way out of here. It won't be because we refuse to accept that magic and other worlds are real. It'll be because we're learning that they are.

[ it'll be because they're choosing to learn. she has to believe that eventually, they'll find a way to harness that knowledge. use it to their advantage.

[ Her words get a soft chuckle from him as his gaze returns to the scene for a moment. ]

My understanding of the world over the past few years has been all about adapting and learning the impossible isn't quite so unusual after all. This place... might be straining those expectations even further, it's true, but I prefer to look at it as an opportunity instead.

...I'm still trying to decide what it's an opportunity for, but I'm certain that will be made clearer in time. Or so I hope.

[interpersonal]

[ her smile softens a little at that. ]

There's nothing wrong with having a little bit of hope.

[ even in her most jaded and cynical of days, elena has tried to remind herself that she has to hope. and maybe hope sometimes is just synonymous for sheer determination, but if she didn't have it, she wouldn't get out of bed. ]

[ His smile softens a hint at that as he glances back to her, understanding flitting across his expression. ]

I've always found it quite necessary, in fact.

[interpersonal]

Me too.

[ the smile lingers, but her eyes are clouded with a similar understanding, and not without a certain heaviness. she tries to shake it off, but maybe it's the kind of thing that will reside in her forever. (there is more to her than gloomy graveyard girl; there is.) ] I should go check on my friend.

[ in truth, bonnie's magic is on display, more so than any of elena's secrets. ] But it was nice to meet you.

I won't keep you. And the pleasure was mine.

[ He adds the words with an easy bow, the move coming easily and naturally as if he's done it hundreds of times before. ]

[ the bow does come naturally to him. for elena, it's something entirely new, and it makes her smile again. and maybe give a little curtsy in response. she's more than a little homesick, and the reminder there are people here who care, even when they don't have to, means a great deal more than he likely knows. ]

[ those two words, thank you, are said so often, but she infuses them with meaning. and then she's off, hoping the gardens haven't been giving bonnie too much grief. ]
