Summary: The Summerween Trickster has made his decree - Trick or treat...or die! This is a mingle log for Trick-or-Treating!
The Story:



On the morning of the 24th, everyone will find that the mansion was inexplicably decorated for Halloween...sort of. The idea behind the decorations is mostly the same, except that every jack-o-lantern is made out of a watermelon instead of a pumpkin. No, this is SUMMERWEEN.

For the first day it will be harmless enough, just a change in décor and a little spooky summer fun. However, by the second day there will be sightings of the Summerween Trickster, a creepy fellow made entirely out of unpopular loser candy, and he is not happy. In the entrance hall, there will be a giant jack-o-melon container with a counter and a count-down clock ticking away to the end of the event.

Your job, Wonderland, is to trick-or-treat for your lives. You have until the end of the event to deliver one million pieces of candy to the jack-o-melon before the end of the event, to appease the Summerween Trickster.

What was that? You'll just sit this out and wait for the event to end? I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see, the Summerween Trickster could be lurking around any corner. If he catches someone not fully embracing the spirit of Summerween (refusing to trick or treat, not wearing a costume, etc), they will not survive the experience. The Trickster will kill them and swallow them whole, making them part of his horrible loser candy body.

Yeah, except it's Halloween and it's in October. So...kinda?

[ October- the tenth month? He made an effort to remember, after Ellie mentioned her calendar. ]

The same procedure at another date. Is it done to appease the same manner of demon?

[ He is more interested in that by far, but he should probably- good is better than painfully ridiculous, he should at least acknowledge that. ]

I'm not familiar with the tradition, so I let the closet choose. Apparently it thought this was suitable for the task.

Mostly it's done for fun, I think.

[They hadn't studied the origins of the holiday at any length, but it probably didn't have anything to do with demons threatening people with death if they didn't participate? Probably.]

My roommate and I put ours together.

[Wings, a halo, and a white robe-dress sort of thing. Though they're not sure if Cullen has angels in his world, or some kind of fictional equivalent.]

[ Fun. He wonders how much time needs to pass until the remnants of a gruesome and life-threatening ritual are ground down to something people readily call fun. ]

You made them yourselves? That's something, on such short notice. [ Needs must, he thought, and has paid little attention to anyone's choice of costume so far. This warrants another glance, at least. ] Does the dedication pay off?

Well, the closets helped.

[Needless to say. They did their best with what they had, and Alphys helped with pinning the halo in such a way so it looks like it's floating, a little bit, just over their head.]

I guess it might? They look really good too, got the devil horns and everything!

[Frisk holds up two fingers to the side of their head to mimic the plastic red horns Chara bears.]

[ If nothing else the costumes are a brief window into other worlds. Cullen has not been able to recognise many of them. Frisk, he thinks, looks a little like a spirit - the old portrayals of them, the ones they like to use in Wicked Grace. But- devil? ]

Devil? I'm not sure I-- [ Wait. ] You said it matches yours? Some sort of demon then?

Yeah! With the trident, and the tail, you know...

[Does he not have those where he comes from? They add in confidential undertone:] They think they're worse than they are, so they dressed up as something meant to be evil.

They don't go by that name in Thedas. [ A beat. ] Or wield tridents, for that matter.

[ Well. Anyway. ]

But I know the creatures well. [ He frowns. ] It's unfortunate that anyone would think themselves kin to them. Will your friend be all right on their own?

Chara? Yeah, they'll be fine! They can take care of themself. I'd be more worried about whoever's with them!

[Oh Frisk, what a kidder! What a...cheerful, slightly giddy kidder. Har har.]

I mean, it's not like they're actually a demon. They're just a kid, like me. About my height, red eyes, brown hair?
