+ Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright! | OPEN +

Who: EVERYONE (if they want to live)
Where: EVERYWHERE (inside the mansion, knocking on doors)
When: 6/24 - 6/27
Rating: PG-13?
Summary: The Summerween Trickster has made his decree - Trick or treat...or die! This is a mingle log for Trick-or-Treating!
The Story:

On the morning of the 24th, everyone will find that the mansion was inexplicably decorated for Halloween...sort of. The idea behind the decorations is mostly the same, except that every jack-o-lantern is made out of a watermelon instead of a pumpkin. No, this is SUMMERWEEN.

For the first day it will be harmless enough, just a change in décor and a little spooky summer fun. However, by the second day there will be sightings of the Summerween Trickster, a creepy fellow made entirely out of unpopular loser candy, and he is not happy. In the entrance hall, there will be a giant jack-o-melon container with a counter and a count-down clock ticking away to the end of the event.

Your job, Wonderland, is to trick-or-treat for your lives. You have until the end of the event to deliver one million pieces of candy to the jack-o-melon before the end of the event, to appease the Summerween Trickster.

What was that? You'll just sit this out and wait for the event to end? I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see, the Summerween Trickster could be lurking around any corner. If he catches someone not fully embracing the spirit of Summerween (refusing to trick or treat, not wearing a costume, etc), they will not survive the experience. The Trickster will kill them and swallow them whole, making them part of his horrible loser candy body.

More details about trick or treating can be found here. This is a mingle post for trick-or-treating, if you'd rather use this than make a post! [Brackets] or prose are both welcome.

[Sirius gives an awkward cough and pats his hands over himself.]

I seem to be.

[He gets to his feet and walks over to the offending broom, eyeing it uncertainly.]

Why a broom? Why a broom on fire?

[He glances back at the girl, squinting.]

I'm not mad, right? That's-- it seems awfully specific.

[She frowns a little, following him over to the broom and pushing it with the tip of her foot to get it out of the middle of the corridor.]

It does? I was just thinking how random it seemed.
goodwoofjames: (And whatever else it takes)

[personal profile] goodwoofjames 2016-07-11 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
I guess it could go either way. It just felt so deliberate as it came at me.

[Hmph.]

It's not a bad costume, really. Well. Not when I'm wearing it properly, I suppose.

[That is, as a dog.]

It's ... a basket. [She can't really think of a polite way to say how odd a costume that seems to her.]
goodwoofjames: (They don't want to believe us)

In the movie, the girl-- uh, Dorothy, she carries her dog in a basket.

[Pause.]

Apparently. I haven't seen it.

But, uh, Padfoot's not small enough, so. We did our best. I thought it was pretty clever.

Oh! [Elizabeth claps her hands together as she gets it.] The Wizard of Oz, I saw that picture with my friend Dr Pines. The basket the dog's carried in is a very odd choice to dress as, though. I'd have pinned you more for the scarecrow.
goodwoofjames: (You love bands when they're playing hard)

[Sirius decides to take this as a compliment, because he doesn't know the Scarecrow doesn't have a brain.]

That so? Well, I was going more for Toto.

[Sirius bends forward and, for a moment, blurs, and then a large black dog stands in his place. He looks up at the girl and begins panting and wagging his tail.

Meet Padfoot!]

[She blinks a couple of times, getting her head around the fact that he literally just transformed into a dog right in front of her. She has to resist a strong urge to reach down and scratch him behind the ears.]

That's amazing!
goodwoofjames: (You want more and you want it fast)

[personal profile] goodwoofjames 2016-07-29 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Boof!

[Padfoot wiggles happily, ready for a scratching of any sort!]

[Elizabeth grins, dropping to the floor and reaching out a hand, unable to resist what an adorable dog he makes. She runs her fingers through his fur, momentarily forgetting he'd been a person just a moment ago.]
goodwoofjames: (They put you down they say I'm wrong)

[personal profile] goodwoofjames 2016-08-18 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Padfoot's tail thumps heavily on the ground as he revels in the attention.

Sirius has considered, more than once, the possibility of at this moment changing back to his normal human form. But he figures that'd be less funny and more disturbing, in reality. So he stays canine for as long as Elizabeth wants to indulge in scratches and pets. Not as if he isn't enjoying himself, after all.]

[She carries on petting for a moment, before pulling her hand back and straightening up, still looking just as impressed.]

That's some party trick.
goodwoofjames: (But I'm still I'm still an animal)

[personal profile] goodwoofjames 2016-08-22 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sirius shivers back into himself and laughs, eyes blinking wildly for a few seconds as he remembers how to be properly human.]

You could call it that. It gets me plenty of extra candy, anyway.
uncaging: (☄ 059)

[personal profile] uncaging 2016-08-23 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[She watches him closely as he changes back, finding it quite a novel experience to see someone else's powers close up like this rather than being observed herself.]

Isn't candy supposed to be bad for dogs?
goodwoofjames: (to prove you're alive)

[personal profile] goodwoofjames 2016-09-01 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Sirius barks out a surprised laugh.]

I hadn't even thought of that! Guess this event doesn't know or care. At least I'm not supposed to be eating it anyway.
uncaging: (☄ 004)

[personal profile] uncaging 2016-09-01 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true! [She's surprised at herself for getting so carried away by the dog that she'd momentarily forgotten that they were gathering candy under pain of death.] Well you're doing far better than me, at any rate.
goodwoofjames: (We choke on our shooting stars)

[personal profile] goodwoofjames 2016-09-05 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Sirius hums thoughtfully.]

Well, I reckon the monster won't care if we share a little.

[He offers his gathered candy. It's up to her if she wants to grab a few handfuls.]
uncaging: (☄ 029)

[personal profile] uncaging 2016-09-06 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Elizabeth glances round to make sure that the Trickster isn't about to swoop down and punish them for taking the candy they were supposed to be collecting, then reaches out and scoops a handful of it from Sirius' pile.]

Thank you! I'd offer some in return, but...

[She shows him her own candy collection, which is rather pitiful considering the amount of doors she's knocked on.]
