Summary: The Summerween Trickster has made his decree - Trick or treat...or die! This is a mingle log for Trick-or-Treating!
The Story:



On the morning of the 24th, everyone will find that the mansion was inexplicably decorated for Halloween...sort of. The idea behind the decorations is mostly the same, except that every jack-o-lantern is made out of a watermelon instead of a pumpkin. No, this is SUMMERWEEN.

For the first day it will be harmless enough, just a change in décor and a little spooky summer fun. However, by the second day there will be sightings of the Summerween Trickster, a creepy fellow made entirely out of unpopular loser candy, and he is not happy. In the entrance hall, there will be a giant jack-o-melon container with a counter and a count-down clock ticking away to the end of the event.

Your job, Wonderland, is to trick-or-treat for your lives. You have until the end of the event to deliver one million pieces of candy to the jack-o-melon before the end of the event, to appease the Summerween Trickster.

What was that? You'll just sit this out and wait for the event to end? I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see, the Summerween Trickster could be lurking around any corner. If he catches someone not fully embracing the spirit of Summerween (refusing to trick or treat, not wearing a costume, etc), they will not survive the experience. The Trickster will kill them and swallow them whole, making them part of his horrible loser candy body.

Ah-- Right. The costumes.

[ She'd meant more that she couldn't imitate the air of royalty, but it doesn't really matter if they're only having fun, does it? ]

Books? [ Robyn replies almost curiously, with a little laugh. ] I... like books. Doesn't everyone? [ beat ] Should I dress as an enormous novel?

[intelligently]

( There's a small laugh. OH ROBYN )

I was thinking more like a librarian. Someone that looks after books.

[heroica]

... Oh. Of course. [ Now she just feels silly. ] That makes more sense.

[ She thinks of the small number of librarians she's seen and frowns faintly. ]

Do you think that would be too... drab?

[ Medieval librarians =/= "modern" librarians. ]

[intelligently]

Not in this time period.

( She's seen the Deeps Roads and how you dress normally, she knows you're not from this time )

There might be less material than your used to but all the important parts will be covered.

( She promises, and she's moving to the closet now to pull out your clothes. Enjoy, Robyn )

[heroica]

[ It's basically medieval times, in Lydia's history, so the explanation has a faint hint of color rising to her cheeks. ]

Oh. [ But she laughs, amused at the idea and excited for the holiday. ] All right, well... I may as well give it a try.

[ After which she accepts the outfit from Lydia and goes to chance, appearing again only after the costumes is on her person. ]

So... [ Robyn begins, a little sheepish. ] Do you think this would work?

[intelligently]

( There's a smile when Robyn returns )

I think it's perfect. Now you just need a book to carry around.

[heroica]

Does it matter which one? [ Comes the question as the Warden turns to a nearby bookcase, glancing over titles. Most are from Thedas, from her own world and experience, but the closet, she knows, can easily produce just about anything, if Lydia has another idea. ]

[intelligently]

No, but if you pick one you like you can read it if you get bored.

[heroica]

That's a good point. [ She agrees, still smiling. ] I'll do that, then.

[ Robyn pauses, glancing away from the books. ]

Thank you for your help. You'll be going out, then, won't you?
