Summary: The Summerween Trickster has made his decree - Trick or treat...or die! This is a mingle log for Trick-or-Treating!
The Story:



On the morning of the 24th, everyone will find that the mansion was inexplicably decorated for Halloween...sort of. The idea behind the decorations is mostly the same, except that every jack-o-lantern is made out of a watermelon instead of a pumpkin. No, this is SUMMERWEEN.

For the first day it will be harmless enough, just a change in décor and a little spooky summer fun. However, by the second day there will be sightings of the Summerween Trickster, a creepy fellow made entirely out of unpopular loser candy, and he is not happy. In the entrance hall, there will be a giant jack-o-melon container with a counter and a count-down clock ticking away to the end of the event.

Your job, Wonderland, is to trick-or-treat for your lives. You have until the end of the event to deliver one million pieces of candy to the jack-o-melon before the end of the event, to appease the Summerween Trickster.

What was that? You'll just sit this out and wait for the event to end? I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see, the Summerween Trickster could be lurking around any corner. If he catches someone not fully embracing the spirit of Summerween (refusing to trick or treat, not wearing a costume, etc), they will not survive the experience. The Trickster will kill them and swallow them whole, making them part of his horrible loser candy body.

[Padfoot shakes off, and just like that he's Sirius, down on all fours. He's used to being in this position in front of James, but he still gets up relatively quickly, even as his head's struggling to remember how two legs work.]

Y-yeah. You know, I've been able to hang out as Padfoot whenever I want here, and it hasn't gotten much easier. Guess McGonnagall had years of practice, but still. You'd think I'd be getting better by this point.

[Not that he wants to reflect on how long he's been here.]

[It's fine - James is there to steady him if he needs it, and once Sirius is upright, James sets the basket down.]

If it helps, I've been wondering if it's got something to do with how time's stopped here. It might get easier with age, but can it do that if we're not aging?

[That wasn't the case with apparition for James, but apparition doesn't involve becoming an animal that also isn't aging at all.]

Mmm, maybe. It's hard to say whether it's practice or the magic ripening sometimes. Just wish it wasn't such a messy transition, is all. It'd be nice for fighting things off. Although I suppose we could just tie your wand to Prongs' prongs and see how that goes.

[James' eyes go very, very wide, much like Prongs.]

...What an entirely reckless and incredible idea. We ought to give it a shot once this event's over!

Of course! Now just to figure out where Padfoot carries his. The mouth sounds like a recipe for slobber more than anything.

Right, so the mouth's out. Maybe we could tie it to his tail?

...Hm. We might need a third person to help if we're going to do this at the same time. And I love Lily, but she's far too sensible to agree to be an accomplice in this.

[A beat.] I bet Souji would.

Should we take this as a sign that this is a bad idea?

On the contrary, I think we ought to take it as a sign that it's a fantastic plan.

So we just have to convince Souji.
