Summary: The Summerween Trickster has made his decree - Trick or treat...or die! This is a mingle log for Trick-or-Treating!
The Story:
On the morning of the 24th, everyone will find that the mansion was inexplicably decorated for Halloween...sort of. The idea behind the decorations is mostly the same, except that every jack-o-lantern is made out of a watermelon instead of a pumpkin. No, this is SUMMERWEEN.
For the first day it will be harmless enough, just a change in décor and a little spooky summer fun. However, by the second day there will be sightings of the Summerween Trickster, a creepy fellow made entirely out of unpopular loser candy, and he is not happy. In the entrance hall, there will be a giant jack-o-melon container with a counter and a count-down clock ticking away to the end of the event.
Your job, Wonderland, is to trick-or-treat for your lives. You have until the end of the event to deliver one million pieces of candy to the jack-o-melon before the end of the event, to appease the Summerween Trickster.
What was that? You'll just sit this out and wait for the event to end? I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see, the Summerween Trickster could be lurking around any corner. If he catches someone not fully embracing the spirit of Summerween (refusing to trick or treat, not wearing a costume, etc), they will not survive the experience. The Trickster will kill them and swallow them whole, making them part of his horrible loser candy body.

When the monster describes his anger, his desire for vengeance, Sirius holds his breath. Sets his jaw. When he speaks of his regret, his cowardice, Sirius lets that breath go.]
I...actually understand all that. It, er. Hasn't happened yet, but. I've read a story about my future. A book written by someone who knows what happens to my world. And to me.
[Sirius runs a hand through his hair, then drops it abruptly when he recognizes a habit he's picked up from James. His heart twists.]
One of my friends betrayed us and got two of my other friends killed. And me sent to jail, framed for it.
[Sirius realizes he's speaking in past tense, and numbly decides it isn't worth correcting. For all the times he's read the books, it may as well have already happened.]
I broke out, eventually, intent on seeking revenge on the person who betrayed us. And it's true that he had completely turned his back on his, had no intent of fixing his mistakes. He was too far gone. But...although I didn't betray my friends myself, had I been a better friend to P-- to the one who did betray us...
[He lets out another, tight breath.]
It hasn't happened yet, but I've felt angry and vengeful. And then just as embarrassed at my inability to see what I'd done to make this all happen until...well, it might already be too late, if we can't remember what we've learned here and go back home with it.
[Sirius swallows. This is really heavy for an event about dressing up and getting candy.]
So. I guess I can't say I'd be one of your, er, guard dogs. But I understand. And I'll be on your side if you need it.

It is a strange place, this Wonder-Land. But I do appreciate you saying that you would assist me if needed, even after knowing more about my own lamentable history. It is, however, as you say, probably in your best interests to not pledge yourself to me. Oaths made in haste have a tendency to, well... constrain oneself in ways perhaps not foreseen during the swearing.

[Sirius spoke before he'd decided it was wise. But they've already shared so much. Why not this?]
I wonder if this place exists as an opportunity to...to make up for those mistakes we've made. Or prevent them, in my case. It's worth trying, anyway. We've got plenty of time.
