[OPEN MINGLE] Or perhaps in Slytherin

Who: Slytherin House! (And friends and visitors, of course!)
Where: Slytherin Common Room, Quidditch Pitch, various places around Hogwarts
When: Duration of the event
Rating: G (will edit as necessary)
Summary: Slytherin open log!
The Story:

The Slytherin common room was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps were hanging on chains. A fire was crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of them, and several Slytherins were silhouetted around it in carved chairs.

The common room has changed, somewhat, from its historical description, thanks to the decorative powers of one Mettaton. Though it still extends beneath the lake and thus retains a greenish, aquatic cast, it's much more brightly lit, its cold, damp atmosphere replaced with dazzling MTT-brand warmth. Even the giant squid, occasionally peering in as it does its rounds of the lake, seems just a shade more glamorous inside such a charming space.

Students - and a ghost or two - can be found nestled within its confines, plotting mischief around the fire, studiously doing their homework (as good students do), or perhaps trading Chocolate Frog trading cards. Though Slytherin is not especially well-known for its wide-open, trusting nature, Slytherins are known for not snitching on each other; if a guest or two were to creep in for a while, then odds are, nobody saw anything.

[Plotting mischief around fire you say? If anyone is likely to be at the center of that, it's probably Kenzi. If not plotting herself because, lets be real. Don't go planning sneaky stuff out in the open, that's how you get caught. She's helping to educate the younger students by explaining how to sneak out of the dorms without getting caught by the patrolling teachers, or where you can get the best stuff at Hogsmeade for playing pranks on other students. Can't go to Hogsmeade you say? Don't worry all you first and second years. Kenzi would be more than happy to help you with all your Hogsmeade needs. Ya know. For a nominal fee that is.

When she's not corrupting those around her she's lounging in the Common Room with anyone else who'd rather be doing anything else but study or, failing that? She'll set upon those who have cracked a book and pester them until they stop. Or lose their temper, whichever comes first.]

[ Natasha happens to catch the tail end of a deal going down between her classmate and a first year, waiting until the boy had scrambled away before reaching out and catching a handful of Kenzi's robes, practically dragging her backwards and into private-discussion range. ]

Darling, why are we swindling Slytherin first years? [ Her tone is deeply disapproving.

And then, ]
Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs are far more suitable for this. Also far more gullible.

Oh I'm swindling them too. [The least apologetic.] But Slytherins are going to get what they ask for.

[Suggesting that the others... will not.]

[ Natasha scoffs and rolls her eyes. ]

Be careful. The professors find out about that and you're in it deep. The other houses might be more gullible but they'll also tattle faster than you can blink. Also be nice to our ickles. At least give them a discount or something.

[ Peter runs into Kenzi in the hallway and books go a-flying. He's got a bloodied nose from having walked into a tree earlier so he isn't looking his best. And yes. A tree. It appeared out of nowhere. (At least that's what Peter wants to believe because he can't be that much of a klutz!). It's just been one hell of a week.

He's never spoken to the Slytherin, but might have had a tiny crush on her back when they were in their second year at Hogwarts. She's trouble though and Peter's one of the good guys. And they have nothing in common. Probably. He's never had any interaction with her before. The closest he has gotten to almost talking to her was when he passed her a parchment of paper in Charms class years ago. He hasn't thought about her in a long while. In fact he hasn't even noticed her again until today. His mind's been preoccupied with more important things lately, like his studies and his dreams of flying without a broomstick.

He doesn't say anything at first, simply stares at her for what feels like an awkward eternity before he remembers his manners and mumbles an apology before moving to pick up his books.

[Pidge is two years younger than Kenzi, old enough to get to go into Hogsmeade and old enough to severely disapprove of Kenzi's antics. It's not that Pidge doesn't do her own share of rule breaking, of course. It's that Pidge is very, very good at not getting caught. Even most of her own housemates don't know about what she gets up to at night.

She approaches Kenzi after watching some rapt first years walk away, whispering plans to each other.]

You're going to get them in trouble.
