[OPEN MINGLE] Or perhaps in Slytherin

Who: Slytherin House! (And friends and visitors, of course!)
Where: Slytherin Common Room, Quidditch Pitch, various places around Hogwarts
When: Duration of the event
Rating: G (will edit as necessary)
Summary: Slytherin open log!
The Story:

The Slytherin common room was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps were hanging on chains. A fire was crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of them, and several Slytherins were silhouetted around it in carved chairs.

The common room has changed, somewhat, from its historical description, thanks to the decorative powers of one Mettaton. Though it still extends beneath the lake and thus retains a greenish, aquatic cast, it's much more brightly lit, its cold, damp atmosphere replaced with dazzling MTT-brand warmth. Even the giant squid, occasionally peering in as it does its rounds of the lake, seems just a shade more glamorous inside such a charming space.

Students - and a ghost or two - can be found nestled within its confines, plotting mischief around the fire, studiously doing their homework (as good students do), or perhaps trading Chocolate Frog trading cards. Though Slytherin is not especially well-known for its wide-open, trusting nature, Slytherins are known for not snitching on each other; if a guest or two were to creep in for a while, then odds are, nobody saw anything.

[ oh my god dipper, who uses the word malarkey with a straight face? ]

Are you sure you haven't been getting pointers from him? [ she leans in, the glint in her eye devious. ] My instincts are telling me that your alleged reason for being in our common room is — malarkey.
krmvgivv: (my plans are all complete)

[MALARKEY IS A GREAT WORD. MORE PEOPLE SHOULD USE IT.

He gives her a shifty look because she's.... not wrong. And it's... probably harder to come up with a better excuse now that she's totally called him on it.]

I mean, considering how many people pass off the password to me within seconds of it being changed, I think I'm ok to be here.

Hey, you're more than okay to be here. We like having you around, Dip.

[ she gets along with most of the ravenclaws she interacts with. elena hasn't told anyone the sorting had made a strong case for ravenclaw with her. slytherin is ultimately what felt most right to the hat, and elena wanted to be with her sister. ]

I just thought you might have other reasons for being around. Reasons I could help with. But if it's Stan you're waiting for, I can always keep you company.

I don't think anyone can help me with my reasons. [He knows Wendy's super far out of his league. He knows. He just. Can't help hanging around anyway.]

So you don't want a sugar quill? [ she nudges dipper's shoulder gently with her own. look, she can't stand seeing him sad. it's awful. ]
krmvgivv: (yes i would)

[personal profile] krmvgivv 2016-10-14 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? [He looks up, distracted from his sulking.] A sugar quill? I mean, sure, but it's not... actually gonna help. Candy can only do so much.
agneshko: (✰ | 012.)

[personal profile] agneshko 2016-10-16 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, no. [ she allows that much. candy isn't a cure-all. then again, nothing is where matters of the heart are concerned. ] But if you have a sweet tooth like me, it'll make you feel a little better as I tell you about the time I crushed on someone older than me.
krmvgivv: (yes i would)

You did? [Candy can only help so much, but hearing about other people being as dumb as him can sometimes help more.]

Who? Did it... work out?

[Does it ever?]
