[OPEN MINGLE] Or perhaps in Slytherin

Who: Slytherin House! (And friends and visitors, of course!)
Where: Slytherin Common Room, Quidditch Pitch, various places around Hogwarts
When: Duration of the event
Rating: G (will edit as necessary)
Summary: Slytherin open log!
The Story:

The Slytherin common room was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps were hanging on chains. A fire was crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of them, and several Slytherins were silhouetted around it in carved chairs.

The common room has changed, somewhat, from its historical description, thanks to the decorative powers of one Mettaton. Though it still extends beneath the lake and thus retains a greenish, aquatic cast, it's much more brightly lit, its cold, damp atmosphere replaced with dazzling MTT-brand warmth. Even the giant squid, occasionally peering in as it does its rounds of the lake, seems just a shade more glamorous inside such a charming space.

Students - and a ghost or two - can be found nestled within its confines, plotting mischief around the fire, studiously doing their homework (as good students do), or perhaps trading Chocolate Frog trading cards. Though Slytherin is not especially well-known for its wide-open, trusting nature, Slytherins are known for not snitching on each other; if a guest or two were to creep in for a while, then odds are, nobody saw anything.

She glances up from her book with a curious look when he approaches, offering him a faint (and somewhat rare) smile as she shifts in position, tucking her feet up under her as she motions to the seat in permission. "Of course not. There's plenty of room. And I promise not to bite, despite what the firsties occasionally think. Did you need something?"

He takes a seat with a soft "thank you," setting his book aside.

"I need to prank Potter." And while he's good at many things, pranks are not one of them.

Her book gets closed and set aside promptly as she straightens up and leans forward with interest. "Consider me intrigued," she answers with a hint of mischief in her gaze. "Did you have something in mind?"
eatsyourscience: (everyday is pretty much the same)

While he'd like to say yes, he has to shake his head. "It's not something I'm very good at."

So he came to the master.

Part of him would like to suggest something that would keep James from playing in the next Quidditch match, but the rest of him knows that that's childish and unsportsmanlike. As irritating as James is, Souji doesn't want to win a match because he's taken out a team's star player. It wouldn't even feel like a win.

"Alright." She takes that in stride, her expression thoughtful as she starts musing over possibilities. "How big a prank do you want it to be? And would you prefer it be over a particular topic? One of your classes? Quidditch?"

She knew how rivalries worked.

"Quidditch." There's zero thought put into that response. It's the only area in which it will satisfy him. "During practice or a game, it doesn't matter."

He considers. He's not above bodily injury, since most things can be healed with relative ease. He doesn't want it to be something that puts a match in actual jeopardy, though.

"Game might be pushing things, unless we think up something that doesn't interrupt it for everyone. It also has the potential for the most exposure, if you want to embarrass him in front of everyone," she muses, tapping a fingertip against her chin in thought.
eatsyourscience: (but it seems that things aren't changing)

Souji had had his reservations about pulling a prank during a game. He'd seen things like that done - mostly by his own teammates - and it always irritated him to have things interrupted or even cancelled because of it. If he was going to win, it was going to be because of skill. So that idea is out.

"Practice is fine. Even if it's just his team that sees it, it'll humiliate him." It probably wouldn't shake his team's confidence in him in the long run, but - "Just before a game would be best."

A temporary shake up would affect their confidence in James, though it likely wouldn't have too much of an effect on their game performance. Slight hesitation, to him, isn't the same as fully disrupting the game.
