The Story:

Common Room
The common room is a circular room where Gryffindor students can relax after a long day of studying. It is full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board where school notices, ads, lost posters, etc. can be posted. The common room is decorated in several shades of red, which is associated with the house.

There are many windows that look out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace dominates one wall. The mantle of the fireplace is adorned with a portrait of a lion. The walls are decorated with scarlet tapestries that depict witches and wizards, but also various animals. There are also bookcases located in the room.


Dorms
The Gryffindor dormitories are also located in the Tower, with two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. One of them leads to the girls' dormitory, the other to the boys'. The stairs to the girls' dormitory are enchanted to become a slide if any boy attempts to climb them, but not vice versa, since it was deemed that girls were more trustworthy than boys... (Look don't blame me it's canon)

[If Shepard is in the common room, she's causing a ruckus- talking loudly about Quidditch, their homework, or just getting very, very engrossed in a game. She's absolutely rubbish at chess, and much happier to arm-wrestle people. Challenge her if you dare... or come over and try to get her to settle down. Best of luck, though. She's a 7th year and avid Quidditch player, she turns down for nothing.]

[ If there is one thing you quickly get used to as a Gryffindor its the loud and rowdy common room. If you need to study, or work on something important, most of the time Gryffindors will go to the library and avoid the headache the common room will cause. So Billy doesn't mind at all when he's interrupted by Shepard commandeering the couch across from him. In fact he shoots her a grin and closes his book. ]

How are we looking in Quidditch this year?

[ Its an easy question, and one that he knows will get her talking. ]

[She laughs, because even though she's not the Captain (despite really wanting to be- but who could possibly beat out Potter?), people continue to ask her about Quidditch. Still, it is 90% of what she does, so she's in no way insulted.]

I think we're doin' pretty well, as long as those Slytherin beaters don't try cheating by just throwing the bats at us. But I think we've got a good shot.

And if they do throw their bats at you you guys just need to time it so that you're hitting bludgers at them when they are unarmed.

[ If they were that stupid then they deserved to get hit with bludgers. ]

From what I hear Hufflepuff has been out there getting in extra practices.

Hah! Yeah, can you imagine? I'll leave that up to our Beaters, though. My job is avoiding everything else in the air.

[Except for the Quaffle and her fellow Chasers. But even then, it wouldn't look good if they wiped out by hitting each other. She sits back and scoffs a bit at his second comment, though.]

They're gonna need it, with all the drills Potter's been putting us through. He's relentless.

Pfft, pretty sure the teachers would like, kill us. Though, not gonna lie, I'd love to just grab a bat sometimes and start wailing on somebody who's tried to murder me all match. But we can totally win without cheats.

[ Some half hour after the match was finished and Mr. Rutherford (damned if he's a nurse by any means) sent her away with nothing but a bag of ice for the fat welt blooming across her thin shoulder, Lena slumps back into the Gryffindor Common Room and pours herself next to Shepard with an unceremonious flop. ]

I can't believe Hooch didn't call foul. Ugh.

[ Hey Shep, you missed your third year hanger-on? Given she took that Bludger for you on account of her club having been knocked straight out her hand, maybe she even deserves a pat on the head or cheek kiss. Lena's not picky. ]

Brilliant score though, that was a one in a mil shot.

[Shepard can't help but smile, though she winces a bit at the mark still on Lena's face. Jeez, that's rough. She was really hoping Nurse Rutherford would take care of her a little more than this.]

I swear, Hooch just wants to watch us suffer. Woulda cheered if I took that hit.

[But she still looks thankful.]

Thanks, though. Couldn't have made it if you didn't take that hit for me. Otherwise I'd have been way down. That thing was coming straight for my face, I swear.
