[Peridot's flailing leads to her latching onto Wendy's arm to keep from sinking. That's about all the answer she's gonna get from her.]

This is a nightmare. What do we have to do to appease Wonderland's torture matrix?

[a ladder lowers in front of them, allowing them access to the next platform.]

[Wendy lets out a gurgle as Peridot almost drags her under, grabbing at the ladder to drag herself- and unwittingly, Peridot, if she's still holding on- a head out.]

I mean, I've seen TV shows like this. You gotta do the obstacle course! It's not hard. Have you never, like, done anything physical ever?

[slapfight]

[she continues to cling and whimper like a dog that's been put into the bath.] I wasn't made for this! I'm a technician.

[canofwhoopass]

[Oh my god.]

So? Have you never like, even walked on your own? C'mon, dude. It's not that hard.

[slapfight]

YES. [once they're on solid ground again, she even lets go to prove it.] But that's different. These are... are... dramatic feats of athletic ability, meant to prove your value as a soldier.

[the next obstacle appears to be a simple rope bridge anyway.]

... Did you like, not take phys ed as a kid? People do stuff like this for more reasons than being in combat. That's like... totally extra, dude.

[slapfight]

I was never a kid. [she moves towards the rope bridge hesitantly.] Or a dude, whatever that is.

[So much of her just wants to burst out laughing right now. Like... holy shit. This is so much more than she was equipped to deal with today.]

You're telling me you have never done anything even like, remotely physical, in your entire life.

[Don't laugh. Don't laugh. Ohmygod she's gonna laugh.]

You are really making this difficult for me! [HOSTILE WIPEOUT ENVIRONMENT.]

[She tries to pull herself together, and gestures to the rope bridge.]

Trust me, you can do this. Just follow my lead, okay?

[She just takes a running jump at the thing, grabbing on and beginning to pull herself along, calling back to Peridot at the landing.]

Just hold yourself up with your arms and legs!
