Transcending limitations

Who: Doctor Whale and his victims test subjects or lab assistants
Where: Mainly his laboratory but probably other places too
When: During the science event
Rating: R more than likely
Summary: Doctor Whale doing science things and experimenting on people
The Story: He was always seeking answers, always wanting to push the limits. All this time in Wonderland and he never tried to really push those limits. But something about this particular weekend made him forego any restraint. He wasn't going to stop until he found answers.

If people got hurt in the process, he did happen to have Adam's healing blood. But before he got ahead of himself, he needed to find his subjects... Hopefully Luke wasn't too squemish, because Whale would need his assistant.

The first thing Vincent is aware of as he drifts back to consciousness is a pounding headache, which is not typical of post-transformation, and a general achiness from body parts that have shifted, which is. He groans a little as he opens his eyes and immediately regrets doing so, as the bright lights overhead stab his sensitive vision. But as he's processing this and attempts to lift a hand to rub his face, he realizes something far more sinister. He can't move. His arm is pinned to the table. Both of them, are in fact, and he quickly realizes that he has been thoroughly strapped down, as he tries and fails to lift his head up to look around.

He struggles to keep calm, but he finds himself flashing back to times when he's been in this same position before, and he doesn't like it. Hearing a noise to the side, he clenches his fist and his claw and tries to keep his breathing steady, determined to control the transformative process - he'll let himself go in a few moments, determined to try and get out of -- whatever this place is, but first a little information...

"Who's there?"

Vincent's eyes narrowed as Whale came into sight, a dangerous glint of gold among the red.

"Who are you and what do you want?" he hissed, pulling at the straps that held him down, both to test their strength and in some possibly vain hope that they weren't strong enough.

Of course this man was a doctor. Did a sane medical professional exist anywhere with in a hundred foot radius of an old mansion?

"Let me go or you will find yourself facing him again... or something worse..."

He hissed a little. "What about nightmares?"

And then, he stopped struggling to maintain control and let go. His eyes changed a little, their muted glow sharply increasing and then irises flickering golden for a moment, but he didn't want to release Chaos - this was a closed in space, and the wingspan would only be a hinderance here. Besides, he thought there was a better chance of breaking the straps with another more brutish inner ... whatever they were. (He had his theories, but not really remembering or knowing the entirety of what Dr. Hojo had done to him, he could never be sure.)

Thus, he began to shift.

Even though he was more than used to it by now, Vincent still couldn't quite suppress the low snarlgaspcry of pain as a shudder passed down his spine, and all of his muscles seemed to spasm at once against the restraints that held him. Swiftly and with the wet popping of shifting bones and snap of moving ligaments, the transformation began. His limbs rapidly thickened, and his rib cage expanded, as he increased in bulk. Shadows from his cloak rippling around him briefly obscured parts of his body, and most of his clothing seemed to melt into him. The metal of his claw, too, changed, morphing into a meatier fist to match everything else. Metal bolts popped out of his skin in places, and static electricity crackled between them, as the transformation completed and the creature snarled at Dr. Whale between lips that had sewn themselves shut.

He ripped at the straps that bound him, struggling to snap them so that he could lunge at the doctor and, perhaps, snap him as well.

But a moment is really all that Whale got, for when the monster found that the straps held firm, he changed tactics as well. Making another wordless grunt, the creature twitched its head a little to the side, and the metal bolts on its shoulders and wrists and head fizzled in warning before discharging what amounted to lightening at the room around him. Part of the storm was aimed at the doctor, of course, but other bolts struck any equipment nearby. There was no attempt at extreme accuracy or grace - only a furious, (and perhaps a little terrified) attempt at defense and escape with the only thing besides its strength the monster had at its disposal.

Unfortunately, the monster did not seem inclined to obey, as it once again sent lightning bolts scattering through the room, while it pulled hard on the restraints on its arms. They creaked a little ominously. Calming down was not in the cards, not while transformed and certainly not while strapped down in a laboratory. Even if Vincent would be loathe to admit it, being in a place like this scared him. Too much had happened in a place like this for him not to be on some level. Emotions like terror and anger, feelings of pain -- it only helped to fuel the monsters within rather than quell them, and threats were consequently of no help, either.

Undeterred, the monster yet again sent a discharge crackling around it. Growling incoherently, it pulled still harder at the restraints. If Whale was lucky, he'd be able to measure at least some output before the monster inevitably ripped through the restraints.

The tranquilizer took a few moments to take effect, and the monster redoubled its efforts, but just as one strap began to give way, the drug had begun to circulate sufficiently. The monster's movements slowed, and it made one last clumsy attempt at lightening before it slumped back onto the table. He continued to stir for a few moments before he's entirely knocked out, and then he transforms back into the normal Vincent.

The man would remain unconscious for a short while - not quite as long as the first time, however. Perhaps it was simply a lower dose of tranquilizers, or perhaps it was simply the greater amount of adrenaline running through the man's system concurrently. However, while unconscious, taking samples was no problem.

But eventually, of course, he would wake up again...
