Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

Use this log for any and all of your carnival needs!

There might be a comment box if there's an office around here, but I don't think the Queen's really the type to listen.

[She's just saying.]

Urgh... Yes, that's true. [He balls a hand into a fist.] She certainly doesn't seem to be the type of monarch who obeys the will of the people! That is why most monarchies have been abolished or otherwise lost their power. Such a system is just not right!

[uncoils]

Yeah, but somehow I don't really see her losing power. Don't think there's going to be a Wonderland Revolution any time soon.

[moraloutrage]

It... it may be unlikely...

[After a moment, he puffs up with determination.]

...But never say never! Though the path of hard work, anything is possible!

[uncoils]

Man, talking like that, I could totally see you leading a revolution.

[She's kidding. Mostly.]

[moraloutrage]

A- a revolution?! [He stammers, surprised.]

I am not sure about that... but it would only be if it were a peaceful revolution! I have hoped that society would give in to a system of meritocracy, and I hope to inspire such a thing through my own efforts!

[uncoils]

Chill, you don't really seem the revolutionary type.

[He's too orderly for that, or at least that's her opinion.]

[moraloutrage]

Ah...! [He does deflate a bit.]

Yes, I suppose that I do not! I am more of the hard working student type! I much prefer to follow than to lead! Thank you for noticing this, Jolyne-kun!

[uncoils]

Yeah, you're welcome. So besides trying to survive the food, what else have you been doing?

[She really has no idea what Ishimaru would do at a carnival.]

[moraloutrage]

Well, you see, I have mostly been walking around and taking in the sights! There is so much to take in, and I am not overfly familiar with carnivals, so I am not sure what activity to partake in!

What about yourself?

[uncoils]

Just kinda checking out everything. The rides, the games. That roller coaster's decent, by the way.

[She shrugs again.]

I figure it'll probably be a while before something like this happens again, if it ever does, so it's worth trying everything while it lasts.

[moraloutrage]

You're right! [He pumps a fist.] This carnival is a fleeting experience, much like youth itself!

[And for once, nothing seems to be a trap!]

Being young people, let us make the most of it! Please, Jolyne-kun, help me to choose an activity to take part in!

[uncoils]

Have you tried the roller coaster yet?

[This is the worst idea.]

[moraloutrage]

[Ishimaru immediately panics, because someone already dragged him onto one.]

I- I have tried that one, as a matter of fact! [He speaks very quickly.] It may be a bit too intense for my liking!

[uncoils]

Okay, okay, coaster's out.

[If he had a bad time, she's not going to cause a repeat occurrence. Not intentionally anyway.]

What about the bumper cars?

[moraloutrage]

Hmmm...! I have never tried those before. Do you feel that it will be a worthwhile experience?

[uncoils]

They can be pretty fun, yeah.

[She knows that's not what he asked, but she figures that's a good enough answer. Or as good of one as she can give.]

[moraloutrage]

Is that so? Well this day should be all about kicking back and having fun! So please, feel free to lead the way!

[uncoils]

Yeah, sure. Let's go.

[She'll just walk him over there where the cars are bumping into each other since that's what bumper cars do.]

[moraloutrage]

[He follows her, and once he beholds the bumper cars in action, he gasps!]

...What a horrible performance! We shall have to do much better, Jolyne-kun!

[All of the people playing must be poor drivers if they keep bumping into each other! He trusts that he and Jolyne will end up playing the game correctly, by simply driving the cars around in circles! Surely that's how it's supposed to be played!]

You're supposed to do that though.

[Maybe this was a mistake. She can't help but feel like this might've been a mistake.]

They're bumper cars. They bump into things.

[She can't think of a better way to explain it.]

[moraloutrage]

They... they are? Well, that does make sense considering their name... but it sounds so needlessly violent!

[uncoils]

It's fun though. Give it a shot, you'll see.

[Come on, buddy, it's not that violent.]

[moraloutrage]

Ah... Well, I suppose that it would be wrong of me to condemn it without giving it a chance...

[At least the bumpers seem like a reliable safety measure! So, with a new resolve, Ishimarun nods.]

Then let us attempt them, Jolyne-kun! [With that, he steps forward to select his cart!]

Yeah, let's go.

[She'll just get into a car on the opposite side.]
