Summary: As an apology for all of the mess associated with the redecorating last week, the Red Queen has organized a party for everyone in Wonderland, and invited
The Story:

The ballroom's high, arching ceilings seem to reach up at least two stories above your head, despite the fact that there are definitely second and third story rooms above this spot. High, wide windows let in sunlight during the day; at night, chandeliers and wall sconces light up with so many candles, it's hard to believe the light isn't from an electric source.

In preparation for the incoming guests, the ballroom has been decorated in light, pastel colors. There are many streamers and balloons, and garlands made with fresh flowers that will not wither for the entire four-day duration of the party. Confetti floats through the air now and then, but upon closer inspection it is not paper, but flower petals. There is a long table set up towards the back with beautiful flower arrangements and more food and drink than anyone could imagine, including an abundance of cake, tea, and alcohol of various kinds.

There are smaller tables to the side if you would like to sit and talk or eat, but there is a great space open as well for mingling and dancing. Various kinds of music will be played throughout the weekend, though there does not seem to be any particular source - no stereo system or DJ booth to be seen.

But most importantly, the party will cater itself to what makes you, the guest, most comfortable. This is your night and you are guests of Wonderland. There's no need to worry or fear. The mansion will take care of you so long as you are in its walls.

(And perhaps, when the party is over, you won't want to leave at all.)

You're awfully kind to say that, Souji-kun, when you weren't there to see what actually occurred.

Everyone else had made it possible. I was selfish, and I got what I wanted too.

Minato's told me about it. I don't think you did anything wrong.

Automatically I would say that the fault lies with that of humanity itself, but that is a broad and unfair generalization.

[Ryoji wasn't going to win this fight though.]

You went on a journey, didn't you? All Fools do that.

[Souji nods.] Yeah. A lot happened along the way.

[kalakiriya]

But the journey was just as important as the destination. Is there anything that you regret, Souji-kun?

[eatsyourscience]

...Yes. There are a few things. But I think that things had to work out the way they did. Otherwise, we couldn't all have ended up where we needed to be.

[kalakiriya]

[At least that was realistic.]

As long as those regrets don't outweigh your present and your future, you'll be okay. Where are you now, Souji-kun, if you ever go back to where you came from?

From where? Tokyo is where you're originally from?

Yeah, my parents live in Tokyo. I was just staying in Inaba with my uncle while they were overseas.

[kalakiriya]

But your... You started your journey in Inaba, right? You were given one year there.

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji nods.] It all happened in Inaba.

...That's the place I want to return to.

[kalakiriya]

Why can't you go back there if you want to? You of all people deserve to go wherever you want. Other people have the opportunity to do so because of you. You should be the same.

[eatsyourscience]

My parents wanted me to go back. I don't want to put my uncle out, anyway.

[kalakiriya]

[Ryoji tilted his head, and smiled a bit.]

I should've known you'd say something like that. Fools.

But I guess... Hm. Wait, isn't the proper age for an adult 20? You'd have about three years, and then you can do whatever you want?

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji nods.]

I'm not leaving Inaba forever.

[kalakiriya]

I do want you to go back! If that place makes you happy. Maybe some day, I can see it too and find out more of why.

[eatsyourscience]

You and Minato can both see it.

[kalakiriya]

It'd be nice for Minato-kun to see it too. I'm sure that his friends will see it at some point once they find out about you and your friends.

[eatsyourscience]

They'll learn about it when he goes to see them again.

[Souji doesn't bother to couch Minato's return to the world in the hopefulness of the subjunctive. This is something that is, that will be, not a might or an if.]

[kalakiriya]

[Ryoji had noticed that wording. He looked up at Souji.]

You seem really sure about this happening, Souji-kun, when we all know the future is yet unknown.

[eatsyourscience]

Yeah. But I don't get stopped that easily.

[kalakiriya]

I don't want to have to be the one to dash your hopes or tell you that I told you.

... And I've already lost more than enough the first time around. I don't want to have to lose more than that, including you.

[eatsyourscience]

I won't let that happen. [Souji held out his hand to Ryoji.] I'm going to shape the future with my own hands.
