[OPEN/PARTY POST] And when you all get shot and try to carry on;
Who: Anyone and everyone who is already a participant or wishes to join the Wonderland resistance! That means you. Yes, you. Get in here!
Where: Fort Dixon-Potter
When: Sunday, 6/15, 9:00 PM and onwards.
Rating: PG by default.
Summary:
The Story:
Sometime before nine o'clock rolls around, those who know their way begin heading towards the resistance hideout in the woods -- or Fort Dixon-Potter, as its come to be known. To any who have been invited to attend but don't quite know how to get there, Daryl Dixon has made himself available to escort people to the meeting, letting people in a few at a time.
Though the resistance's de facto leader is no longer with them, several veteran members have chosen to make use of their resources and bring as many more people into the fold as they can. There's food provided for all who attend: burgers, hot dogs, and other standard cookout fare to be passed around throughout the evening. Notebooks will be handed to all new members, and all will be asked to sign their names on the official roster, for reasons. It's time to discuss how to move forward with Operation: Anti-Jabberwocky. If anyone has questions about the last eight months or so in Wonderland? Now is the time to ask.
((OOC: This log is the follow-up to this post concerning re-organizing the resistance. If you're looking for the full OOC rundown of what the resistance is and how you can use it as a tool ingame, please see the information provided here and here! Feel free to use any of the subthreads below, or start top-levels for your characters as you see fit!))

OTA
He's doing his best to smile at everyone but it's beginning to feel a bit forced. Hopefully, no one will notice and he can just watch, learning what he can from the others around him.]
no subject
Deciding to make his approach, Wash does so as obviously as he can, not wanting to startle the poor guy by accident. Especially considering he's...you know. Wearing his armour and sort of looks more like a robot than human.]
Hey. I don't think I've seen you around before--are you new? Or, uh, newer?
no subject
Oh, hello. I... yes. I arrived a couple of days ago. James is my best mate so I figured I ought to tag along. I'm Peter.
no subject
I thought so. [Nodding, pleased to have been right about him being new, Wash keep his tone friendly.] I haven't met James, but it's nice to meet you. I'm Washington. Or, uh, just Wash works.
no subject
Wash, then. I've, um, not been to a resistance meeting before. To tell you the truth I don't really know what it is we're resisting. I feel a bit... out of place.
no subject
[There's a faint hint of teasing in his voice, because really, the way the kid was hanging way off to the side and not talking to anyone kind of tipped him off.]
It's okay; if it makes you feel better, this is my first meeting, too. I wasn't even aware there was a resistance until very recently. [Which is a shame, really, because he would have joined ages ago if he'd known. Taking a slight pause, he shifts his stance and figures he might as well help Peter out here.]
I can tell you what we're resisting, though. Basically, Wonderland. From the sounds of it, the group is working on finding a way to get us all back to our worlds, and at the same time working to fight against Wonderland, protect everyone that's stuck here, and...try to prevent the future here from happening the way we've been told it will. To keep the Jabberwocky gone or dead or...whatever it is right now.
no subject
[Peter's now incredibly curious. James never really told him the reason for the resistance, just that there was one. Peter isn't the type to really question. If James says it's a worthy cause then Peter is there.]
What is supposed to happen in the future? And... what is the Jabberwocky?
no subject
[This is the story, very quickly summed up and going only on what he knows--which certainly isn't everything. His voice is grim, however, because this future they're supposed to be heading towards is not one he likes the sound of one bit.]
The Jabberwocky is a monster, one that can only be killed with the Vorpal sword. Nothing else can actually destroy it. ...And, I've heard that it gains the ability of whatever it eats. So, like, if it swallowed a shield? It would be even better defended. It'd probably be impossible to drive a sword through it.
no subject
So I take it we're here to look for the Vorpal sword? I'll help anyway I can! If James is in charge I bet we'll have that sword by the end of the week. He's tops at finding things.
no subject
[Nodding, Wash can't help but smile a little at Peter's enthusiasm. It's good! He always likes to see people excited to fight for a good cause, and around here, they need all the help they can get.
There's one comment in there, however, that causes his smile to falter.]
As nice as that would be... People have been hunting for the sword for months now, at least. Possibly even years. I'm not entirely sure, but I know it's been something we've needed to find for a while now. [Not that he wants this to sound even more hopeless...] But I'm sure we'll have luck sometime soon. We're bound to, with how much bad luck goes around here.
no subject
If it hasn't been found that doesn't mean it can't be found. [Peter sounds optimistic but even he can sense how futile this whole resistance things seems.]
I'm sure if we look long enough someone will find it. At least, I hope so.
no subject
[He likes the optimism and nods along with what Peter says. It's a difficult situation, really, and Wash is sure that there are a number of people who think they may as well give up looking, so it's good to see that someone so new isn't turned away by any of this information.]
I hope so, too. I think we all hope so. But I think you're right; I think we will find it. Eventually. It'll probably take some time, but it'll turn up sooner or later.
no subject
Like I said, if anyone can think up a plan to find the sword it's James. If this is his resistance then it will be found. And when it is, I suppose, we'll all be ready.
no subject
[It makes Wash think that he should go searching through the attendees here and try to find him. Actually meet him. Peter talks about him so highly, he must be a great, strong person.]
But you're right. When we find it, everyone here will be ready to do what they can to change the future and keep ourselves safe. Maybe even get us all back home.
[That's an appealing idea, for sure. Getting to go back home, see his friends and teammates again... Man, if some of them were here, they'd have even better luck against this Jabberwocky business...]
no subject
[Peter looks around but can't seem to pinpoint where James is in all of the madness.]
Well, I'm sure there will be another chance to catch him. You know those weird muggle devices that we had when we woke up? I'm sure you can find him there. He's very easy to talk to. And if you have any ideas on how to fight this Jabberwocky, he's the bloke to find.
no subject
I might have to try calling him up, in that case. Thanks.
[And now, backing up a bit...]
Uh, you said... You said "muggle", right? Does that mean you're a wizard?
[He's only met one other wizard, where he learned about this 'muggle' word, but... Wash is pretty sure Ron is gone now. The fact that there are other possible wizards around, however, intrigues him.]
no subject
Yes. I'm a wizard. Although, at the moment I'm a bit handicapped. I didn't have my wand with me when I arrived so, it's rather difficult to perform magic without my wand.
