Summary:
The Story:
Sometime before nine o'clock rolls around, those who know their way begin heading towards the resistance hideout in the woods -- or Fort Dixon-Potter, as its come to be known. To any who have been invited to attend but don't quite know how to get there, Daryl Dixon has made himself available to escort people to the meeting, letting people in a few at a time.

Though the resistance's de facto leader is no longer with them, several veteran members have chosen to make use of their resources and bring as many more people into the fold as they can. There's food provided for all who attend: burgers, hot dogs, and other standard cookout fare to be passed around throughout the evening. Notebooks will be handed to all new members, and all will be asked to sign their names on the official roster, for reasons. It's time to discuss how to move forward with Operation: Anti-Jabberwocky. If anyone has questions about the last eight months or so in Wonderland? Now is the time to ask.

You get used to that. Most of the folks around here aren’t taking one thing into consideration: the damned curses that happen.

And I don’t think that can be broken. Not yet, anyway.

Hope’s damned powerful. Maybe it’s about bringing folks up to speed. I’m here to keep an eye on a few folks. Pretty sure everyone’s got their own reasons.

Powerful, sure. But it's gonna take more than hope to actually pull anything off. But, hey, this is definitely better than what I was thinking was going on. If I'd known there was a super secret spy club, I'd have been on this sooner.

Right now, the whole Jabberwock thing is ridiculous. These kids think we need to find a sword before it swallows a shield, or the sword won’t work. No idea if either it’s true, or it’ll work, but that’s the jist.

Wait, wait, there's a second part we need to be looking for? Why does no one tell me these things. I can't work on half-assed answers.

[He pauses.]

Well, I can, but it makes it that much harder. Are you, like...The only one here that actually knows what's going on, or is everyone else playing stupid.

[ She admits it completely guilelessly. She blinks at him. ]

The Vorpal sword was lost or something, and the folks that came back from the future warned us to take out the Jabberwok before it swallows the Vorpal Shield or the sword won’t work.

[ She shrugs. ]

Think it’s a load of bullshit, but there’s precedent, so who the hell am I to argue?

[And for several long moments he just stares at her. Because yeah, he gets it. Wonderland. We're all mad here. Whatever.

But does anyone stop and thing about how absolutely insane this all sounds? Really.

Which is why he knocks back the rest of his drink.]
