Tornado. Definitely a tornado. Ianto shook his head, a tiny smile creeping onto his face in response to Jack's million-watt grin. How was he supposed to resist?

"Well if he can find Wales on the map he'll be doing better than I do with half of the States."

Somehow he wasn't surprised at the long list of friends Jack was rattling off. Friends, and two weird people to avoid, which he'd normally think of as a sign of someone Ianto might like. From a guy as friendly as Jack, though, he might take "weird" more seriously.

He cleared his throat. "All right, I guess."

And if he woke up with marker on his face or one hand in warm water, he probably deserved it for caving this fast.

"If anyone can, it's Bruce. Trust me."

Well, with that all settled, that left only one thing for them to do, right? Right! At least in the mind of 'Captain' Jack Harkness.

"Let's dance. Come on. Get to show you off to everyone."

Setting aside his glass of punch (nasty stuff that in his opinon) he held out a hand for Ianto.

Oh, Ianto thought, Jack was flirting.

He wasn't sure how he'd missed that. It probably had something to do with the fact that no one flirted with him, and besides, Jack was a guy, and Ianto didn't really go for guys like that, usually, not that there was anything wrong with it --

Where had he been going with that?

Nowhere, he admitted to himself. In circles. He eyed Jack's offered hand the way he'd eye a large, toothy dog of uncertain friendliness.

There was an easy way to get out of this, which was to say he wasn't interested. The only problem was that Ianto wasn't sure it was true.

"I can't dance," he said instead.
