Summary: It's your chance do your dance
The Story: After the culture festival wraps up on Wednesday afternoon, all students are invited to a dance in the gymnasium! There are snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic, of course!), as well as cheesy paper decorations made by the student council members.

"I'm sure you've also seen girls wearing a lot less. Maybe I should mimic them too while I'm at it," she muses, tapping a finger thoughtfully against her chin.

Of course, then she's rolling her eyes. "Of course not. I know how to do my own threatening. Besides, do you honestly think I'd ever agree to come to this with someone I was worried about that with? I'm not stupid. Why are you out here hovering, anyway? Didn't you invite anyone to dance with?"

James tenses. Because that isn’t funny to him. “That’s not funny, Nat.” He grumbles, scowling at her.

He huffs out a sigh. “You have to let me have some fun sometimes.” He complains. Honestly, he just wants to threaten a little? That’s not so bad is it? “No, I didn’t. I promised Lia a dance, but I’ll find her later.” His friend won’t lack for partners.

She sticks her tongue out at him and looks unrepentant. "It is a little, stop being so grouchy. Also your face just did contortions that were hilarious so I'm even more amused. And don't call me Nat." She hated that nickname. It made her sound like a bug.

"Fine, I'll let you have fun if you let me have fun," she counters with a mischievous grin. "Is that the deal you wanna make here? Are you sure?"

“I’m not being grouchy.” He denies. Even though he really, really is. He’s just being protective of his sister. That’s his job: to protect his sisters.

He considers for a moment. “No, never mind. I’m going to go growl threateningly at whoever goes near Rach.” Not that too many people will be with that supposed dancing she’s doing. “You going to be alright?”

"Yes, you are. See? Now you're sulking because I argued you to an impasse. You should know better, Jamie. At least you can feel better about the fact that if you can't outmaneuver me, it's unlikely anyone else here could either. They don't have your experience at it," she points out with a crooked smile.

"Rachel, on the other hand, could probably use it. I think I saw her drinking the punch earlier. You know that's the first thing to get spiked every year. If it's not that, then she's in serious danger of possibly knocking herself out or anyone dancing with her. Make sure you remember to duck."

He hates that she's right. And she is, completely right. Not that he's going to admit it. Nope.

James pushes himself upright. "Alright, alright. I'll go bother Rach." He leans over and kisses his sister's cheek, smirking. "Have fun, Nat and if you need me, just holler alright?"

Because he'll come running.

She just grins and tilts her cheek so it's easier for him to reach. "Fine. But if you hear the guy hollering instead, I've still got it under control. And don't forget to have fun yourself at some point. There are girls here that need dance partners! Do something about it!"

James laughs and holds his hands up in surrender. "I got it, I got it. You're fine and I'm hovering." He knows that he should go mingle or whatever, but sisters come first.

"I'm going, I'm going." He waves to her and heads back inside and into the party.
