Summary: It's your chance do your dance
The Story: After the culture festival wraps up on Wednesday afternoon, all students are invited to a dance in the gymnasium! There are snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic, of course!), as well as cheesy paper decorations made by the student council members.

[ cora hale doesn't hide from anything — unless it's dancing in public. doing so in her own dorm room is one thing, but out on the dance floor where some have their sharp eyes stitched to the dance floor in a bid to spy the first clumsy movement on it is a complete other. embarrassment isn't something she feels, tripping over her own shoes on a field in a fit of her own laughter — but this isn't her element, her dress not her usual, comfortable uniform. maybe simon understands it, dressed differently, the two of them united by the crispness of their own attire, but not so much in the reasons why they wear it. her hackles rise at the word, it reverberating around her as though it's a goading, but cora tries to dull it down. the dance floor isn't a field — it's not a sport she wishes to scrape her knees and push herself until she's put the opposing team in their place. ]

[ cora shakes her head. ] No. [ slightly, yes. it's a little evident in her tone that she's not entirely convinced herself. people watching is fun, but doing it by herself isn't so much. ] I don't dance. [ she shrugs her shoulders, mouth pinching in sheepishness — as though this is a valid excuse to hide. ] It's embarrassing.

Dancing? [ He arches an eyebrow at this, looking a little surprised at her excuse, but not intending to let it go as easily as all that. ] I suppose it is, maybe. But it's also fun. And there's a heck of a lot of people already out there embarrassing themselves.

[ Some of them quite spectacularly, actually. He jerks a thumb to indicate the mass of their classmates - most of whom have plenty of clumsy movements. ]

Come on, come give it a try. What's the harm? If it makes you feel better, I can promise to dance very badly just so you look really good. Not that I don't think you're perfectly capable of it anyway. I've seen you move on the field.
