Summary: It's your chance do your dance
The Story: After the culture festival wraps up on Wednesday afternoon, all students are invited to a dance in the gymnasium! There are snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic, of course!), as well as cheesy paper decorations made by the student council members.

[Despite her Popular Girl status, Brittany tended to be open with her compliments. Which wasn't to say she would hand them out for no reason. She needed a reason. She was usually just really good at finding one of those.]

If you think you can keep up. Let's go.

[johnnyblake]

[ He'll take it. And he'll take her hand, too, leading her a little closer to center-stage because that's probably where they both belong, let's be real: Brittany for her abilities and Blake because he's awesome. ]

Hit me with your best shot~

[That suited her just fine.]

[If there was one thing Brittany enjoyed more than actually dancing, it was other people watching her dance. Of course, she might have to tone it back a little bit with an unrehearsed partner...but that didn't mean she couldn't still show off her moves.]

[So she did.]

[Hips swaying to the beat. Torso twisting in such a controlled way as to synch up beautifully with each and every step. She knew the song. That helped. It gave her the opportunity to predict the next lines, and react accordingly. Almost like a routine, except she was making each and every subsequent move up on the spot.]

[ There's no way he's keeping up, and he's not exactly the best dancer in the world, but Johnny's finding it hard not to have fun when Brittany's around, and because of that, he's more than willing to stick out the number.

At some point people make room, and not long after that, everyone's clapping with the music, cheering along at the show that looks easy for someone like Pierce. She's agile and nimble and practiced, quite a sight to be seen.

Johnny's more than appreciative, especially near the end. ]

You're too good at this!

[stoptheviolence]

[Towards the end, when the song began to slow, she came up to him, back not quite pressed against his chest. It was less of a flirtatious mood and more of a way to incorporate him into the routine.]

No such thing.

[johnnyblake]

[ He's certainly impressed. More than impressed, really, as she manages to make someone as lacking in skills as Johnny look good. A laugh escapes and he has to admit he's having the most genuinely good time versus the major fabrication he usually puts on. ]

Yeah, okay. Then you're the best there is. That work better for you?

[stoptheviolence]

[Good.]

[She wanted him to have fun. The more fun he was having, the more fun she had. That was how that sort of thing worked.]

I can live with that.

[johnnyblake]

[ Somewhere in the middle of this whole ordeal, he comes to a stop and claps his hands together sportingly. ]

Okay, teach me somethin'. Can we like— like make up a dance? Or some moves? Like The Electric Slide? We'll team 'em to everyone, have a big group dance.

[stoptheviolence]

[It was a cute idea, but she still gave him a strange look for it.]

Oh, come on. Groups of people can't just spontaneously burst into song and dance. This isn't She's all That. That would take, like, weeks of practice to arrange.

What? Are you—? [ He laughs and stops and shakes his head at her. ] Are you serious? Like five dance moves? You don't think these people could learn five repetitive steps in like... ten minutes? All they gotta do is follow your lead...

you caught that too, huh?

Would they even want to?

I mean, we're all kinda just chilling tonight.

[ Johnny purses his lips and puts his hands on his hips and shakes his head, offering Pierce his best attempt at a disappointed gaze. ]

Thought you liked to dream big. That's the whole reason I'm here tonight, 'cause you're a big dreamer. You don't think you got what it takes, fine, but I was believin' in you.

[The glare didn't even phase her, honestly.]

Even the biggest stars out there need a night off.
