The Story: After the culture festival wraps up on Wednesday afternoon, all students are invited to a dance in the gymnasium! There are snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic, of course!), as well as cheesy paper decorations made by the student council members.

[ Now he's just being silly, but he doesn't miss her almost-laugh and it makes him grin, cheeky and unrepentant. He holds out a hand to her in invitation. ]

[Well, well. Look at that. Dean hadn't been able to work up the nerve, or maybe he just hadn't given a damn, but a total stranger wanted her company. Dean was losing more and more points all the time.]

[ He's looking a little confused about that because why wouldn't he ask her? Was there some unwritten rule somewhere that said he shouldn't? Not that Simon paid all that much attention to rules in general, because he inevitably ended up breaking them anyway. But her agreement gets a smile from him and a flare of relief across his face, hand still held out to her. ]
