Her instincts are right; he does appreciate the company. He's taken some time to hold his boy again, and now just sitting there watching it play out, he's grateful for a friend to speak with. Lydia gets a warm smile from him as he looks over at her, making a slight gesture to her to sit and join him.

"It was," he nods. "Well, I tried to make sure it was. We couldn't always stay in one place, but I tried to give Roland some stability." He takes a breath. "How are you faring through all of this? Your room...you had a good memory?"

Lydia steps slowly into the room, sitting herself onto the grass near to Robin.I t's now that she takes in more of the memory, feeling as if he's given her permission to pry a little. It's home, and he has his family. Lydia assumes that the baby that he's holding is the son that he mentioned worrying for at home, at that the others around him are his friends. She was right - it was a nice scene.

There's a slow nod at Robin's question. The end of Lydia's memory was a happy one. Jackson being cured of being a kanima, and not being dead at the end of it all. That was happy, even if it had been a little painful getting there first.

"I got to see some people I haven't seen in a while." Or would never see again. Stiles, Jackson and Derek had left Wonderland. Allison had died. They'd had a second chance here but it was gone now.

He feels terribly, thinking it, but he's almost glad his memory hadn't been of Marian. It would have been too painful to see her giving birth to their boy, and then remembering what happened to her not long after that. It's a selfish though, he knows, but one he can't help for just a moment. But this memory with just his son, this is a good one. Wonderland, it seems, is oddly merciful at times.

"I'm glad," he says warmly, reaching out to rest a hand on her shoulder. "It's a bit hard to walk away from that room, isn't it?"

There's a gentle nod, and Lydia can't help but linger on the thought. Some of the time that she'd been in her room she'd focused on the other people in it, wishing she could interact with them. But it as a memory and not anything else - nothing would be different.

"It can be hard. Being separated from people you care about." For the people tthat were simply at home Lydia missed them but ahe kknew they were ssafe, uunless anyone came from her future. But for people that she could never see again? Whilst she hadn't seen Allison's death she'd felt it - the oncoming moments, the pain of it happening. That was something no one else could understand even if they all shared the loss and love for her. It hurt worse knowing that Allison had been here and had gone home to die, and she didn't know if she could return.

He remembers Lydia telling him about her friend, the one she'd lost, and so his thoughts naturally drift there. Her eyes seem slightly troubled, enough for him to wonder if her friend was in that room. He doesn't even need to ask really, it's there in her eyes. She's lost people, regardless, and they understand each other.

"I wouldn't wish it on anyone," Robin says truthfully. Even his worst enemy.

"But this glimpse at them again for a moment...some might think it cruel, I think it's...a rare mercy from this place."

"Why a mercy?"

Rather than simply disagreeing with his opinion she was interested in what he thought about it. Originally Lydia had always wanted to go home - she'd not seen any good in the place, or hadn't tried to. Now she was mixed, and she'd been in Wonderland long enough that it felt like home. It brought people back from the dead, gave them second chances and it was a break from the madness that happened in Beacon Hills. If there weren't any events it would be like a nice break. She still did want to go home but for now she didn't mind being stuck there.

"I suppose because I don't tend to think of being here as a good thing. Although it's been kind on occasion."

And he had to admit that being able to actually just be here with Regina, live with her, and get to know Henry, certainly had its perks. But there was quite a bit he didn't like, and often the events were unkind to him and the people he cared about. This event, though, was a rare kindness.

"And I've met many good people. Friends," he smiled softly at her.

There was a smile at his comment and Lydia had to agree - at least for part of it. Being here- maybe it wasn't a good thing. There were a lot of things that weren't good but there were also a lot of things that could be, more for people that had come from worlds worse than her.

"I don't know what I think about this place anymore." She'd spoken to enough people, and experienced enough that she could see both side of it. She remembered how she'd felt when she'd arrived and whilst she still agreed with herself then there was a lot that she'd end up losing if she did simply go home. They would never remember it and things would never change.

"So many people come from different places. i think it's different for all of us." Sam would definitely rather stay here - and bring people from his home here even with the events, but compared to a constant zombie threat the events definitely weren't as bad.
