Right now, Castiel may not be bitter despite being imbued with that emotion, but he is angry at Crowley for carrying on with this charade, and the urge to smite is stronger than it's been since most of his time here in Wonderland.

He lets out a breath, clenching his hands into fists and then releasing them as he reminds himself that obliterating Crowley simply because he's annoyed would make him no better than one of his older siblings.

The first comment he doesn't even address. He and Dean are not in any kind of situation where cheating would be a valid thing, and Crowley should know that, despite all his bad jokes. "Dean would never ask that of me, first of all," he snaps. If Dean were ever in a situation where he wanted to rip Meg's head off, he would do it himself. "And I wouldn't, even if he did."

Crowley can try to pit them against each other all he wants, but it won't work.

Meg's jaw twitches as Crowley speaks and she fixes a malicious glare on him. The hell does this need to be so personal for, anyhow? She's about to snap at him when Cas answers, and shuts her mouth in favor of hearing the angel's response. She expression turns neutral as she watches him, and by the time he finishes speaking, she's looking back at Crowley with more than a hint of smugness coloring her features.

"It's not cheating if Dean's invited whenever he wants," she quips back, smirking, since the angel didn't address that first part. But hey, that's more her department, anyway. She knocks back another sip, gives him a pointed look, and drawls, "Next question?"

Crowley knows he can't really get a fight out of this, but even a little doubt could be a powerful tool to lash out with and Crowley's feeling stung enough to attack. There is something interesting in there, though. Meg really doesn't know what string she's dangling for him.

"Does Dean know that he's invited? We should really make sure he knows where he's welcome."

He starts to pull out his phone. Just a quick text to his bestie.

Of course Crowley and Meg would choose that point to dwell on, even though it's maybe the least relevant to what's actually going on here. They're demons, though, and they seem to be drawn toward sexual innuendo like moths to a flame.

This is all posturing rather than anything real, but Meg's assertion that Dean is also "invited" to whatever imagined fling they're engaging in isn't exactly what Castiel expected to hear.

Crowley is calling his bluff, Castiel knows that, and yet it doesn't stop him from taking a sharp step toward him. "What are you doing," he demands.
