+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: GENERAL NON-PARTY MINGLE POST +
Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: Everywhere that isn't one of the parties! Both Sides!
When: Sept 1st to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Wonderful parties are springing up all across Wonderland, but there are still plenty of other places to explore. This is a log for any new arrivals who want to experience different parts of Wonderland life, and any current guests not in the mood for a log or transmission of their own.
Please also see THE FOURTH WALL MASTER POST for rules, information, and all the fun parties you can visit!
The Story:

On the morning of September 1st, everyone in Wonderland, on both Real and Mirror Side, will awake to find one of four possible invitations has been shoved under their doors. The glass has been carefully removed from all mirrors, and everyone will be able to cross to and from Mirror Side with ease, without forcing any sort of swap. The Queen of Hearts' chambers, discovered in the previous event, will be mysteriously inaccessible, leading only to a tearoom.
Additionally, there will be many more Wonderland guests than usual, each of them with their own random invitation and network device (wired to make replies only). As the week goes on, as per the invitations, more and more parties will appear (and everyone is invited to all of them, whether they received an invitation or not). But who brought them here? Why are there so many parties? Who is responsible for all of this exactly?
It's anyone's guess, though if parties or riddles are not your style, then there is always plenty more to see...

They could just leave. That's what he's saying, isn't it? They could just leave, and -
* Please don't think about this anymore.
They take a breath, steel themselves. No. This is...it's odd, but it's them touching upon the bones of a world that might not be theirs. A world opening to them, beneath their questing and their venturing and their uncertainty, and this must have been what it was like, pulling ephemera such as spr_mysterman from the abyss-like depths, lines of things meant to be gone and dead and buried and ERASED.]
Frisk.
My name is Frisk.
[There. They - they chose that. For themselves. Didn't input the name under anyone's power. Under their own power. Their own power.]
You're human too?
no subject
But Zacharie was coming to the conclusion that this child had once seen or learned something they shouldn't have. As cliche as it was 'the abyss stares back at you' was a good point to make. Picking out points and Zacharie's brand of shortcuts and wholly knowledgeable of the script...being created with that in mind was so much easier.
He didn't have to think.
The merchant bends down to pull out a juice box and holds it out towards Frisk. It's probably a little too sugary but that's how it went.]
Buenos días Frisk. Yes, I am human. One of the few, in fact! I also happen to be a cat.
no subject
They don't think they're very successful.]
Not many where you come from, huh?
[He is also a cat, he says, which is...so absurd and obviously untrue that this time they think their smile is more sincere, a bemused tugging at the corners of their lips.]
no subject
But with his hands free, Zacharie can turn on his heel and somehow within that spin is able to swap masks to his cat one.]
Maiou.
[You're welcome.]
But to answer your question, not really. Nevertheless, I can still sell my wares here.
[Because everyone else is long gone. At least the action brackets can't be read.]
no subject
Maybe his world is just frighteningly, curiously similar. Though they can't really say.]
Do I, um - do I owe you? For the -
[They jiggle the juicebox uncertainly.]
no subject
I believe that conversation we had was worth the price of the juice. Ah ah ah, but if you are still willing to buy something else I am happy to sell.
[He got the information that there was someone here that was almost like himself. It was very interesting.]
no subject
All they do is talk. But it's not without its reasons.]
What...have you got? You mentioned CP...?
[They know about HP, maybe, but CP is an acronym that they don't think they've ever heard before.]
no subject
CP stands for Competences Points! It's what allows special and magical attacks and so on to be performed. If you run out of those points then you are stuck with your basic attack and may be in a world of pain if you cannot heal.
[So...MP, if Frisk knows that term.]
Both of my Flesh items can restore CP if it runs out and you have no other way to restore it. Naturally Golden Flesh is more expensive as it restores more.
no subject
Well, of course he isn't. He's human, isn't he?]
I can't do magic.
[They say it with a wry twist to one side of their mouth. They could call SAVING a kind of magic, true, but it's a function that never requires conventional "fueling". It simply happens when they require it.
A curious expression briefly flits across their features, and they ask, oddly:]
If I had a used Bandage in my - [INV, they nearly say, but don't - ] - pocket, would you buy it from me? Would you...do you allow people to sell you things?
no subject
[Although parting with his credits was another story. That said it still was something he did.]
If you have something you wish to sell, show it to me with C...erm, show it to me and we can discuss the price.
[Just give him a second to turn around again to swap masks.]
no subject
[Huh. A faint smile tickles the corners of their lips, just for a moment. And here they thought only Temmies did that sort of thing. But then, Temmies were...rather good at nonsense. Their armor, for one, was certainly - well, it was something.]
I don't right now. I was just asking, but - but I was wondering if you had anything for...HP?
[That might be more universal than CP or MP or whatever it is they call magic, they think.]
no subject
[Back into the bag we go, a bag that apparently can hold an unlimited amount of junk inside. He pulls out a couple of white tickets with either the words Luck or Fortune stamped on them.]
Here we are. These are Luck and Fortune Tickets! Capable of restoring your HP, all you need is to will them to work and presto. Fortune Tickets heal more so naturally they cost more as well.
[Interested?]
no subject
How much does either one heal?
[They'd liked the looks of a lot of the fancier items, Underground, steaks and Legendary Heroes and Glamburgers, but the bottom line is that seldom were any of those things truly necessary, except in very...particular instances, lined with gold pillars and sine waves of bones. There's no need to spend more if their max is only 20 HP.]
no subject
[And apparently someone's game dealt with much higher HP values than Frisk might be used to.]
Also if you are the combative type, I would suggest picking up some Jokers. They can help you to avoid seeing the game over screen so often.
no subject
[Frisk blinks in alarm. Not even LV 19 has one hundred. And one thousand? What kind of world would that be, where there's hundreds of HP, where such a thing would be necessary?]
I've - I don't need that much, actually. But what's, um, what's a Joker?
[Would it actually - how could something actually SAVE them from death? They know death too well, and it's little more than a minor setback, but to avoid that trickle of memories that don't belong to them would be nice, they think.]
no subject
The Jokers are items used to revive yourself or party members. I should put up a warning here and mention they will not cheat Wonderland out of what it wants like they do back home. But if you wish to revive those unconscious then they would be a good go-to.
[He fishes the card out. A playing card decorated in black with a leering jester. The word Joker is stamped on like the others.]
no subject
[And no residual trauma. No nightmares about spears and bullets and bones and fireballs streaking toward them, pinning them down and sapping them of every ounce of HP they've got.
Definitely not!]
Wonderland...doesn't like to be cheated, yeah. I think - well, um, all I've got is, is G. From the - from where I come from.
[They dig up a couple of coins from their pockets.]
Do you...is this acceptable?
no subject
[It may send them spiraling back. This child reminded Zacharie of someone he once knew. Someone who looked to hard without trying and then tried very hard not to look.]
But G works fine. As long as it is currency or information, I will be happy to sell you my wares. What would you like?
no subject
[They sound appropriately apologetic about the fact, not wanting to cheat Zacharie out of his wares.]
I mean, it - sounds like our worlds - really are. Alike, I mean.
[Maybe unnervingly so...]
no subject
[Says the guy who comes from a horror RPG. But he pretends to shiver because yeah, his credits are important and he'd very much like more money. Any forms. It's not that much to ask for.]
Perhaps this was a planned meeting. I spoke before about you having the choice to speak with me but introduction scenes are necessary sometimes. But I believe this has been somewhat useful for us both as well.
[Don't you think?]
no subject
I...guess they are. [A thought occurs to them as they start counting out the G they have at their disposal.] Do you...have anyone who, sort of, who says the words where you come from? I mean -
[They're saying this all wrong. "The words," yeah. Anyone can say words.]
I mean, someone who sort of...describes things. Like a guide.
no subject
[Someone really likes cats, apparently.]
But if you mean the words I use, then no bar certain situations. Every game needs its quirks and mine happen to be self-awareness.
[He's remarkably chipper about it though. And watching that G being counted. Doing math in his head that he doesn't have to.]
no subject
[The Judge guides the Player and the Batter. The Batter, who is...Frisk, maybe? Chara? But "Judge" sounds like Sans, even if he isn't a cat. He smiles enough to be a Cheshire Cast, maybe, but that's a stretch, they think...]
I know some people who are a lot like you, actually. [They smile again, though there's a shade of uncertainty in their expression.] From home, anyway. They know...how the world works, kind of. How it all comes together.
no subject
Ah ah ah. I'd be happy to meet them if that is the case. We could have interesting talks and by the sound of it, I am a better alternative to the other merchants here.
[So business in this place would flow nicely. Excellent, excellent. It's great how that works out!]
no subject
[Not how they would put it, but it's accurate. It would make him better. In some ways. Preferable in others.
They're getting distracted. They start to count out the G in their pockets. They've got quite a bit of it, though they're not sure how well it translates to credits.]
How much G do you think a credit is worth?
