+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: GENERAL NON-PARTY MINGLE POST +

Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: Everywhere that isn't one of the parties! Both Sides!
When: Sept 1st to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Wonderful parties are springing up all across Wonderland, but there are still plenty of other places to explore. This is a log for any new arrivals who want to experience different parts of Wonderland life, and any current guests not in the mood for a log or transmission of their own.

Please also see THE FOURTH WALL MASTER POST for rules, information, and all the fun parties you can visit!
The Story:

On the morning of September 1st, everyone in Wonderland, on both Real and Mirror Side, will awake to find one of four possible invitations has been shoved under their doors. The glass has been carefully removed from all mirrors, and everyone will be able to cross to and from Mirror Side with ease, without forcing any sort of swap. The Queen of Hearts' chambers, discovered in the previous event, will be mysteriously inaccessible, leading only to a tearoom.

Additionally, there will be many more Wonderland guests than usual, each of them with their own random invitation and network device (wired to make replies only). As the week goes on, as per the invitations, more and more parties will appear (and everyone is invited to all of them, whether they received an invitation or not). But who brought them here? Why are there so many parties? Who is responsible for all of this exactly?

It's anyone's guess, though if parties or riddles are not your style, then there is always plenty more to see...

Well! How very excellent for you!

[It irritates them that something could, theoretically, be powerful enough to resist them. They've got the limitless tries that their determination allows them, but the grind can grow tedious, and, well...]

* I've got better things to do.

[Hand still on his hip, Souji raises a hand in a vague, faintly dismissive wave.]

As long as those "things" don't involve killing people, have fun with that.

[Yeah, sure, man. What're you gonna do about it? Stop them?

They do what they wish. This is what a Frisk is. They shape the world to their satisfaction, and they get away with it!]

Sure thing, buddy chum pal. I'll give you a ring next time I murder anyone.
eatsyourscience: (hand grenades and napalm flames)

aaaah I hope this is okay! If not let me know and I'll change it out

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2016-09-08 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji looks at them for a few seconds, and the voices of his Personas whisper at him.

They could cause harm, don't just let them go.
They haven't done anything yet. You can't judge something that hasn't happened.
How can they be so flippant about harming others?!
Is it really your job to do anything about it? You protected yourself, that should be enough.
They're taunting you! Isn't what they've done already enough to do something about them?

The voice that wins out sounds ancient and he can't ignore it's authority. Reaching out, he summons again. Izanagi-no-Okami appears in front of him, his weapon in hand, though that isn't what he uses to attack. Instead, Souji speaks the name of the spell--"Ziodyne"--and the kami-persona points the sword at Frisk, sending a powerful surge of electricity their way.

With this Persona foremost in his mind, Souji no longer has any intention of bargaining or threatening. Izanagi makes him far more confident than he even normally is, taking him to the edge of arrogance. He doesn't like the idea of killing, but he will do everything up to that point to neutralize a threat. And he's certain he can.]

go for it! also SAVE 3.0

[They slip out of the way of the electrical discharge even as it singes the skin of their arm, burning through threads of their striped shirt, their eyes narrowing. So he changed his mind, did he? That's fine. It's fine. It seems they'll have to make their own departure.

They brace themselves, swapping out the Dagger for the Burnt Pan. It's a lesser weapon by a significant margin, but its capacity to heal and to block unwanted strikes makes it ideal in this instance.]

God, you're a jerk.
eatsyourscience: (you're a criminal as long as you're mine)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2016-09-08 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
It's the most appropriate mask to wear with you.

[Souji has never come so close to thinking of a Mirror as a thing rather than a person. They make it easy, though.

Without moving from his position, he sends another attack at them, a fire spell this time, his strongest of that element. He's not concerned about burning through his spirit's power--Izanagi-no-Okami will return it to him as long as he wins.]
dustiest: (* (The coffin is empty...?))

[personal profile] dustiest 2016-09-08 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah, fire magic! How they've missed you!

Wait, no they haven't. Fire magic is dumb, and this is especially dumb because it's not even proper fire magic. It's some human equivalent.

Still, they've got quite a lot of experience dodging attacks of this nature, and dodge them they do. The Burnt Pan snaps up as a sort of makeshift shield, even as the metal heats up with the impact of the flame on its conductive metal. Their palms burn and their teeth grit, but it's fine, they can weather it.

Their HP ticks up incrementally once the attack has ended. Yes, the healing bonus certainly does help things!]

Still want to talk to me later?
eatsyourscience: (I can see a frozen point in time)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2016-09-09 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. [He'll need a different Persona at the fore of his thoughts for that, though.] But right now, I'm done talking.

[With another gesture at Izanagi, Souji tries an ice-based attack, the strongest of its type that any Persona--with one exception--is capable of. He isn't sure how Frisk is dodging these attacks so easily, but he's fine with trying each spell in succession until he runs out of them.

Of course, he's used to having teammates to follow up his attacks with their own. Even after so long in Wonderland, it's still a habit to pause after striking. He doesn't this time, following up the ice attack with another just as strong, though it's wind-based this time, a green whirl-wind aimed at the spot he thinks Frisk will move to if they end up dodging the ice.]

[It's no different than dodging bullets, and even if they're different than the white pellets a monster shoots out, it's considerably easier than - shit.

The ice catches them, frigid and uncompromising, spears of cold biting through their sweater and into their skin and then the wind rushes for them, and what is he, some kind of elemental hack, only they don't care, not one bit so they snap things back to their origin.]
dustiest: (* Be seeing you.)

LOAD 3.1

[personal profile] dustiest 2016-09-09 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
[They wrench things back to the start, arm burning with the stench of ozone and singed skin. If he throws the same attack again, they'll have a far better way of gauging where to go and how to get the upper hand.]

If you kill me, I will be very disappointed.
eatsyourscience: (run for cover and you'll find us there)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2016-09-11 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji falters. That...wasn't what he expected them to say, but he has no idea why he would have expected anything in particular. The feeling is stronger than deja vu, but not clear enough for him to grasp at, and it disturbs him. He doesn't respond to Frisk's statement, trying to get himself back on track.

His Personas chatter at him, all with a different explanation, and he shakes his head hard, trying to disperse their voices. Izanagi is silent, a calming presence at the forefront of his thoughts, and he summons him again.

Frisk had dodged Ziodyne. It seems likely that, unless he can follow up one spell with another quickly, they'll be able to do the same with all of his elemental spells. With a Shadow, he could test all of them to see if it had a particular weakness but people--and Mirrors--didn't typically function that way (unless they also had Personas, and really, his Mirror is the only one who falls into that category anymore). It would probably be a waste of time to scroll through the other three elements.

The spell he chooses is Megidolaon, a power he has never known how to describe. It makes him think of something radioactive, like a cloud of light that billows out from the point where he aimed it. It's the strongest spell he has other than that ultimate spell that he has decided he will not use on anyone, Mirror or Real.

The spell has a broader reach than the electric attack, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to dodge. He'll be surprised if Frisk does, but Frisk (both Frisks now) continue to do just that.]
dustiest: (* It's a real get together.)

[personal profile] dustiest 2016-09-11 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
[And that is definitely not the same spell as before. What the heck, guy? Maybe humans are just more unpredictable than monsters, a fact of which they were already well aware, thanks. Or maybe -

Well, he wouldn't be the first one to remember things he shouldn't. Not even the first one from home.

They draw back in preparation and - botch any kind of evasive measure pretty much immediately. The light sears at them at a magnitude that they can really only compare to what they've imagined Sans's skull-blaster dealios must feel like.

In any case, it hurts.

Their HP's almost reached 0 before they snap things back once more. They've made their decision.]
dustiest: (* That's a shame.)

LOAD 3.2

[personal profile] dustiest 2016-09-11 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Nope! Nope! Nope, they're done! They are REALLY SICK OF DODGING. And of getting burned and scraped and irradiated and whatever the hell else this guy's got up his sleeve. They don't care. They're DONE.]

I'd LOVE to stick around with a couple of tape measures, but I've got better things to do.

[The last words are snarled out over their shoulder as they fucking book it as fast as they cant.]

[Souji's left, once again mentally reeling from whatever the heck just happened. He feels almost nauseous, and so he doesn't chase them. Whatever made them run off, it must have been something he'd done, and he can live with that.

For now.]
