+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: GENERAL NON-PARTY MINGLE POST +

Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: Everywhere that isn't one of the parties! Both Sides!
When: Sept 1st to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Wonderful parties are springing up all across Wonderland, but there are still plenty of other places to explore. This is a log for any new arrivals who want to experience different parts of Wonderland life, and any current guests not in the mood for a log or transmission of their own.

Please also see THE FOURTH WALL MASTER POST for rules, information, and all the fun parties you can visit!
The Story:

On the morning of September 1st, everyone in Wonderland, on both Real and Mirror Side, will awake to find one of four possible invitations has been shoved under their doors. The glass has been carefully removed from all mirrors, and everyone will be able to cross to and from Mirror Side with ease, without forcing any sort of swap. The Queen of Hearts' chambers, discovered in the previous event, will be mysteriously inaccessible, leading only to a tearoom.

Additionally, there will be many more Wonderland guests than usual, each of them with their own random invitation and network device (wired to make replies only). As the week goes on, as per the invitations, more and more parties will appear (and everyone is invited to all of them, whether they received an invitation or not). But who brought them here? Why are there so many parties? Who is responsible for all of this exactly?

It's anyone's guess, though if parties or riddles are not your style, then there is always plenty more to see...

Not everyone has to be the opposite. Some mirrors are my friends along with their reals!

[Maybe there's hope for him yet. Maybe he's a good mirror too!]

Then there's hope for me.

[They're friendly, if really suspicious. Makes him wonder what bad experiences they've had.]

What kind of books do you like to read?
determinedest: (* Maybe with what little power you have)

All kinds! I kinda just pick whatever looks interesting. Even the ones I can't read.

[The library is a bit more...crowded than they remember, but at least it's big enough that they can lose themselves in the stacks without fear of being disturbed.]

What about you?

I mostly go for fiction or crime. And history.

[Right now, books are a very welcome retrieve from the mirror world, so he has been reading a lot.]

When I was young I'd read anything I could get my hands on.

[They almost nod in agreement, until they remember how mirrors don't...technically exist in the same way the real things do. Which is confusing to think about, especially since - are the mirrors aware of it?

They dither for a bit longer than they should in contemplation before remembering they should probably answer.]

Books are...nice. For escaping things.

[As a mirror, it becomes difficult to tell if a memory is real or just a reflection or illusion, but it doesn't pay to linger on those thoughts, just like it doesn't pay to even consider being disloyal to the queen. Yet.]

True. There are a lot of things to escape from. Maybe less here.

[But of course he can't stay.]

Is it...bad? On the mirror side?

[They don't even mean to ask the question like that, but it's out before they can amend it, revise it, make it sound better in their head.]

I know that, um - a lot of the mirrors I know? Not all of them, but a lot of them are...not very nice.

...it's not good.

[Leo's eyes are on the books instead of them, but finally he turns his head to spare a smile.]

There are some that aren't so bad. Just makes you wonder what it says about their real.

None of them are exact opposites.

[Stan's Mirror had been gentle and quiet and one of the nicer ones they met, but that didn't make his Real any less of a person when they met him face to face. They'd quite liked him, pun exchange and all.]

Mirrors are just...what-ifs, I think.

You might be right. Makes me wonder what kind of what-if I am.

[Mostly boring by comparison with curly hair, so there's that at least.]

But would you tell me to avoid yours?
determinedest: (* You called for help...)

[personal profile] determinedest 2016-09-23 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Um.

[Frisk laughs a little, a nervous stutter of sound.]

Yeah, but that's 'cause...'cause I know they're dangerous. I've tried talking to them and everything, and they're just...not very nice, it turns out.
