You might belong in Gryffindor
Who: Gryffindors! (+ Friends/Visitors/People sneaking in)
Where: Gryffindor Tower: Common Rooms + Dorms. Gryffindor Table in the Great Hall.
When: During the event
Rating: Label as you go
Summary: Gryffindor Mingle Log
The Story:

Common Room
The common room is a circular room where Gryffindor students can relax after a long day of studying. It is full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board where school notices, ads, lost posters, etc. can be posted. The common room is decorated in several shades of red, which is associated with the house.
There are many windows that look out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace dominates one wall. The mantle of the fireplace is adorned with a portrait of a lion. The walls are decorated with scarlet tapestries that depict witches and wizards, but also various animals. There are also bookcases located in the room.

Dorms
The Gryffindor dormitories are also located in the Tower, with two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. One of them leads to the girls' dormitory, the other to the boys'. The stairs to the girls' dormitory are enchanted to become a slide if any boy attempts to climb them, but not vice versa, since it was deemed that girls were more trustworthy than boys... (Look don't blame me it's canon)

BARRY ALLEN | SIXTH YEAR, PREFECT | OTA
[ barry allen, sixth year gryffindor prefect, is asleep on the couch. head lolling over the arm of it with his herbology book open and pressed against his chest, he may be snoring just a little as he sleeps. (and definitely mumbling. no, no, not the pies!) ]
[ it's not an uncommon sight these days. sometimes barry falls asleep in class, in the library, even at the most exciting of quidditch matches when there's an incredible lull in the game. he falls asleep in detention, divination, but never when he's in the great hall. he's wearing himself a little too thin, but he won't admit it. ]
[ barry allen has a secret — and it's a good one. why is it he's seen everywhere and anywhere all over hogwarts at the same time? despite being a student who studies and doesn't study all at once, he's not necessarily the worst. his grades are high and he earns the same number of points as he's responsible for losing (albeit, it's never quite attached to his name). he has a time turner for his studies, and he works it expertly. ]
[ but he hasn't quite figured out how to work himself. a long, lanky boy hogs the entirety of the couch in the common room, and it doesn't seem like he's about to get up and make room for anyone else any time soon. ]
HALLWAYS, CLASSROOM WALKING OR MISCHIEVIOUS KNIGHTS
[ whether he's walking the hallways to get to class (or to where the food is — it's never mattered to barry whether or not it's lunchtime or dinnertime when his stomach's grumbling) or patrolling, barry allen's always one to turn a blind eye to a good gryffindor who's up to no good. as long as mischief's managed, that's what counts, isn't it? ]
[ because he's in a rush to get to his next class — he'd accidentally turned his time turner a few clicks too late — he bumps into anyone along the way, and helps them pick up their books if the force of the collision is enough to knock them about. ] Woah! I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
[ or he's walking slowly, admiring the suits of armour. is it really his fault if they begin to sing or dance to beyonce once he's gone? is it really his signature if they begin to murmur mum-mum-muh of barry allen's infamously famous favourite song, poker face? ]
Common Room!
Is this what happens when you don't have long left in school? Like you kind of start...giving up?
[ Henry's completely joking and not serious at all as he wakes Barry up, grinning. ]
no subject
[ when henry nudges him, he wakes up, shifting until he's pulling himself to sit properly in the corner. he wipes at his face and stretches his neck. he much prefers henry's way of waking him up than flash pecking at his head. barry's owl is notorious for being a bully. ] Soon you're going to have to drag me to class, dude. I can't go on. The end is nigh.
no subject
[ Henry tends to watch out for his friends and make sure they're okay, but if Barry insists, he won't push it and they'll move on. ]
no subject
[ barry squints his eyes and shakes his head, pulling himself to throw his legs onto the table right in front of the couch. there's space for henry to occupy now that barry's not being selfish and hogging it. ]
[ he thinks on whether or not he should tell henry. it isn't like his mother wouldn't know, given she's a professor, and the professors all must've had a say on whether or not it was right to give a student a time turner. but he doesn't know if he wants to put it in his head, or even worry his young friend who has so much else to worry about. ]
Remember when you told me all those cool versions of fairytales a while back? And I said I owed you one? I should've given you a coupon to use.
no subject
What, exactly, does that mean? You definitely don't have to owe me anything, first of all, unless you wanna buy me a boatload of candy next time we can go to Hogsmeade.
no subject
[ he adds that to his mental list: buy henry a buttload of candy, sneak it into his room, don't let anyone figure it out. easy. even though him being caught sleeping in the common room may elicit doubt in those who he proposes this to, he's as good as his word. he may even throw in another random object just for fun. henry deserves to live a little. ]
We're friends, right? Friends tell each other things. … And buy each other a lot of candy.
no subject
[ But then Barry's asking him if they're friends, and Henry raises an eyebrow. ]
Yeah, of course. Candy goes both ways.
no subject
[ right, henry? he's allowed to go on a sugar high and experience an incredibly horrible sugar crash over the hogsmeade weekend. it's all a part of being a sixth year. you're supposed to make horrible mistakes so the younger students know what to avoid when they're that age. he's doing his duty as prefect, educating others in what not to do. ]
[ for the moment, barry forgets what he'd wanted to tell henry. hogsmeade is one of his favourite "events" in hogwarts, and knowing henry's officially able to come along and enjoy himself only kicks him into gear in wanting to give him a very horribly timed itinerary. (no one can be in two places at once like barry allen.) ]
You should take some candy to the Shrieking Shack. It's the best thing to eat when you're waiting to see the shadow inside of it approach the window.
no subject
[ It's totally okay if you're sharing. ]
Man, my mom and my aunt both told me not to go to the Shrieking Shack at all. No clue why. I'm pretty sure it's because they went when they were our age and something happened, but no one will tell me.
[ In actuality it's probably because they don't want him 'getting into trouble.' Whatever. ]
no subject
There's something in there that's alive. [ he shrugs his shoulders. ] I don't know what, but there's a reason why it got its shrieking name.
no subject
[ His voice is low now too, because those curses are not to be taken lightly. ]
no subject
[ he appears surprised, like he hasn't heard this story before. so many surround the shrieking shack that they all begin to melt into one another. but barry's always liked henry's stories. ]
[ matching his low voice, he asks, ] Do you know what kind of curse?
no subject
[ Henry's never really sure which story to believe; of course every student's heard a different thing. WHAT'S YOUR VERSION BARRY. ]
Anyway, it's probably nothing but I also don't want to risk it.
[ Because mom. And aunt. ]
Now are you gonna tell me why you're willing to bribe me with candy?
no subject
Because I need a friend! [ another friend besides iris, obviously. ] A cool friend. Someone who's going to really enjoy standing out in the cold for a really long time waiting for people to scare.
You seem perfect for it. [ he smiles, then his entire demeanour changes because barry allen doesn't like to presume. ] If you're interested. You might have other plans ... Which is cool! I can stand there by myself.
Common Room.
She's absolutely positive he's going to wake up with a terrible crick in his neck and back with how he's laying there. Carefully, she picks up the Herbology book, marking his place before closing it and stacking it to one side with his other books and parchment and quills. Her hand holds his shoulder and she gently shakes him. ] Barry. Come on, Barry. Up you get.
no subject
[ he's sleeping comfortably — minus the positioning of his neck — when caitlin begins to wake him. barry usually sleeps like the dead, but given some of his near misses where his naps turn into long sleeps, he's begun to sleep as light as a feather. easily disrupted like one, he jerks awake. ] — Not my face!
[ when he sees her, he slowly pulls himself up, and wipes at his face with his hand. smiling, ] Hey, Cait. Aren't you out a little late?
