Summary: As an apology for all of the mess associated with the redecorating last week, the Red Queen has organized a party for everyone in Wonderland, and invited
The Story:

The ballroom's high, arching ceilings seem to reach up at least two stories above your head, despite the fact that there are definitely second and third story rooms above this spot. High, wide windows let in sunlight during the day; at night, chandeliers and wall sconces light up with so many candles, it's hard to believe the light isn't from an electric source.

In preparation for the incoming guests, the ballroom has been decorated in light, pastel colors. There are many streamers and balloons, and garlands made with fresh flowers that will not wither for the entire four-day duration of the party. Confetti floats through the air now and then, but upon closer inspection it is not paper, but flower petals. There is a long table set up towards the back with beautiful flower arrangements and more food and drink than anyone could imagine, including an abundance of cake, tea, and alcohol of various kinds.

There are smaller tables to the side if you would like to sit and talk or eat, but there is a great space open as well for mingling and dancing. Various kinds of music will be played throughout the weekend, though there does not seem to be any particular source - no stereo system or DJ booth to be seen.

But most importantly, the party will cater itself to what makes you, the guest, most comfortable. This is your night and you are guests of Wonderland. There's no need to worry or fear. The mansion will take care of you so long as you are in its walls.

(And perhaps, when the party is over, you won't want to leave at all.)

[A year? Since he left here? That was so long. Some uncertainty creeps into Souji's expression as he tries to remember just how long ago it was that Yousuke left.]

...I guess that's about right.

[Then he's younger than Yousuke now, technically. That's a bummer.]

What's happening at home?

[Younger, but still bigger. Things would probably always be that way.]

It'd be a lie if I had much of anything to say. It's Inaba, y'know? Senior year is kinda the pits.

I'm more worried about you, if things are still the same around here.

This place doesn't change. [He misses home more than he ever did during the first couple years of his stay.] Minato came back, but he doesn't remember anything...

Minato? Really? Is he okay? I mean, that sucks, but I'm sure you two hit it off again anyways.

[eatsyourscience]

...Yeah.

[They'd gotten along fine until the most recent event smorgasbord. Now they're kind of...not really talking.

Souji'd rather not talk about that, though. He grabs hold of Yousuke's hand.]

Let's get some food.

Woah, hey, what?

[Yousuke drags behind Souji's insistence.]

Don't just say 'yeah'. That definitely wasn't right.

Food is right.

Not when you're using it as a distraction!

Don't waste time like this. You can stuff your face whenever.

[Souji slows and stops, looking back at Yousuke.]

...I miss home.

[masukukunai]

Yeah? [He tugs Souji away from the food, towards him.] Hell, even I would. How long have you been here? You... Don't even have to answer that.

[eatsyourscience]

[He does anyway.] Almost three years.

[masukukunai]

[Yousuke makes a face.]

I can't believe I left you here...

[eatsyourscience]

You didn't get to choose.

[He holds Yousuke's hand a little tighter.]

I used to like it here. [Even with all the crazy.]

[masukukunai]

I always thought I would have figured it out, you know? Find the loophole. Play the house. I guess being a hero once can get your hopes up...

Used to, huh?

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji misses being a hero. Here, he's just short of being a normal teenager, based on his track record.]

It wears on you.

...I died again. [This wasn't really what he wanted to spend however long they have together talking about, but maybe it's better than pretending everything is amazing while stuffing his face.]

[masukukunai]

[The first thing he thought when he got here, was if anything had happened to Souji in his absence. Something he could have prevented. He knew the odds of happy accidents were against him, but... For the first time, he looks truly crestfallen.]

...I'm sorry. [He tightens his grip on Souji's hand leans the side of his head up against his neck.] I couldn't be there.

You'd probably have gotten hurt, too. Or seen it.

[Either would have been terrible. It wasn't exactly pretty.]

[masukukunai]

Seeing it wouldn't be a problem-- whatever, we've been through this. Pointless argument. I would have wanted to be there anyways.

[eatsyourscience]

...Thanks.

[It might have made it a little easier afterward.]

I'll be more careful.

[masukukunai]

There's only so careful a person can be, y'know?

[He gives Souji an affectionate headbutt.]

Don't feel bad about it.

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji nods, then gives Yousuke a kiss.]

I miss you.

[masukukunai]

[He doesn't shy away.]

I miss you too-- I guess? I mean, I feel like I should. I remember everything.

[eatsyourscience]

Everyone at home's okay? Do you hear from me often?

[masukukunai]

Oh, yeah! [He brightens up; even he loves Inaba.] Everyone at home's great. Me'n the girls are all in the same class again-- and it's fun being senpai to the others.

I hear from you all the time. It's kinda funny actually; Whenever someone wants to talk to you, they talk to me first. Like I'm your stand-in or something. I hear all the world's troubles and funnel them back to you. I tell them they can just call you directly, but... I guess they'd all rather talk to someone first.

I'm glad you're there for them.

[Souji smiles to himself.]

Thank you. [He'd like to be there to do it himself.]
