+ For Glory! For Death! +
Who: EVERYONE & Unwanted Guests
Where: The Grounds & The Palace
When: August 27th to 29th
Rating: PG-13 to R for fighting, violence, and death
Summary: Attackers from other realms threaten the Asgardian palace and your very lives! This is where you fight or flee, the place for all your combat mingle needs.
The Story:
+ Day 3 : Rock Trolls and Ogres +

Rock Trolls and Ogres are strong, tough and surprisingly fast, with great muscular bulk. Their sight is keen, and they hunger for human flesh. Fortunately they are lacking in tactical skill, and few to none will manage to break through Asgard's protective barrier to enter the palace. ( x ) ( x )
+ Day 4 : Frost Giants +

The Forst Giants will scare off yesterday's attackers almost entirely, bringing a greater threat to the palace. They are faster and stronger still, and skilled in cryokinesis. One touch by their hand might freeze a warrior whole, if they don't stop the spread of cold on time. Several of their numbers will manage to break through Asgard's protective barrier to enter the palace. ( x )
+ Day 5 : Dark Elves +

The Dark Elves are the last and greatest threat to Asgard. They rely on stealth and deadly energy weapons, their strength and craftiness yet unparalleled. They are weak to iron, and any warrior would be lucky to discover this weakness on time. They infiltrate the palace from the caves, and nearly all of their numbers will attack from the inside. ( x )

this stupid jerk. he raises a fist, rethinks slamming his knuckles into damian at full power and instead reaches out with his fingers extended, pushes hard against his chest with all of his strength to get him to back off. )
You are so mean!!
( a big breath in, because he isn't finished yet. )
What did I ever do to you, huh?! I came out here to help you and--and this is what I get! You know what, fine! Stay out here all by yourself! I'm sooo sorry if my calling us a team offended you! If my asking if you wanted help was rude! I was just trying to help! I won't make that mistake again!
no subject
He looked up and saw the boy was coming towards him. 'Good.' He gave a chuckle, but it was breathless. When Kent took a breath, Damian might've had a flash of panic, thinking back to the Ogres just moments ago and how Kent just froze them with a single breath.
'No, if you want to go Kent, we are making this a fair fight!'
Hastily he reached into his belt, pulling out a glowing green Batarang and sharply threw it at the advancing Alien.]
Shut up and catch!
[Damian jumped back on his feet and sprung to tackle Jon to the ground while he was distracted.]
no subject
jon doesn't really have the time to be concerned with the whys and hows though--not when damian's tackling him down shortly after it starts. he gives a startled sound in the back of his throat, easily topples over onto the ground and squirms under him, the hand not directly touching the batarang raising a bit to try and push it out from the slightly curled fingers of his hand.
his body feels exhausted, pains coming with every beat of his heart and-- ) --the hell, Damian?!
no subject
Shut up!
[He growled, a firm hand pushed down on Jon's chest, his other moving to take the Batarang out of Jon's hand and fisted his own hand around it. Raising the clenched fist around the Batarang, intent to punch Jon right across his smug looking face-- Only, it wasn't looking so smug right now...]
You’re just--!
[a--a--! Damian felt him brain stutter. From this close he could see the slight puff still around Jon's eyes from crying earlier and even possibly new forming of tears in the corners. Not to mention the way he could feel Jon's heart pounding like a scared bird trapped in a cage from where Damian’s hand held firmly down on his chest. His clench fist hung in the air, hesitant to strike down. He could make Kent bleed. Make him truly hurt. So why wouldn't his fist move?!
Then it hit him. Just how helpless Jon was without his powers. Hell, even with them, Jon was still a scared kid that just wanted his parents. This was no fair fight. In that instant he could think of exactly 30 ways to kill Kent with just this Batarang. The mind set of an assassin. Strip Damian’s toys away and he could still kill someone, but strip Jon of his powers and you would just be abusing...]
...a child...
[An alien child sure, but still a child. A cold feeling formed in his stomach. He let out a frustrated snarl, pulling back and putting the kryptonite back in his belt.
He starred down at Jon silently, raised his hand again...then gently flicked his nose.]
Stand up. This isn’t the place to start a fight.
no subject
damian's hand poises against him, and even with the batarang this far away from him, jon's condition isn't recovering at all. he takes a few shallow breaths through his nose, digs his fingers into the dirt beside him in some last ditch effort to drag himself away from that.
he's weak. weaker than he's ever been before--and for someone like jon, raised up on a farm, constantly lifting and moving heavy things, pushing animals around to get them to where they needed to be--he wasn't superhuman, but he was always a little stronger than the average kid. for someone like him, the realization that he can't even push off this tiny thirteen year old is absolutely terrifying.
even when damian talks down to him, calls him nothing but a child, jon can't do anything against him. he can't lift his arm, can't punch him square in the jaw like he should be doing. it takes a few more moments after the kyptonite has been put away for him to start feeling like normal again.
his nose scrunches up when damian flicks it, brows furrowing as he shifts to press a palm down against the dirt once he's had enough time to sit down and just. breathe. pulls himself back together. )
Why do you--even have that? What's wrong with you?! ( he's trying to sound pissed, angry, but there's a shaky cadence to his voice, and his tone's still--quiet. jon balances his weight against that palm, tries to push himself up, but he's not being very successful at it. ) Just. . go away, Damian!
no subject
Still...
"We're a team, right?"]
Tt...
[He scowled but grabbed Jon's arm, drawing it over his shoulder and pulled the boy to his feet.]
...I wasn’t offended.
no subject
self-control is important, but it's something that jon's still leaning. instead, he just leans all of his weight down against damian--because if he can't push him away, he'll just weigh him down. )
Precaution against what? Against me? ( said as if he wasn't just punching and pushing damian around, but whatever, damian started it. ) I bet your dad would be mad if he knew you had that.
no subject
No instead he stopped to pick Kent up so they could move faster, holding the larger boy in a princess' carry towards the barrier-- Come on Kent, move it, there are flesh eating Ogres out here! Also were all Kryptonians this dense or has Jon just been eating too much Hicksville pies?]
My father is the one that made that device as a precaution against your father.
[He said stone faced even as he carried the larger boy.]
So yes Super Boy. I started carrying one as well in case your judgments were ever impaired, such as mind control or if you just plain decided to use your powers to harm me or others. Like you did just a few moments ago.
no subject
jon shifts his weight, moves to roll himself right out of his arms because nah, he's not dealing with this. what if someone sees them like this? that'd be the worst. his knees hit the ground in front of damian when he tumbles out of his arms, but he's quick to get himself back up to his feet, dusting off the dirt from his legs. )
You started it. I wasn't even hitting you that hard. ( he was holding back. . at least a decent amount. jon's usually holding back to some extent, because who knows how hard he could hit if he didn't. )
no subject
I take it you're done slacking then?
[He signalled for Jon to continue walking since his legs were finally working. Though Damian did make a mental note of how quickly the boy seemed to recover from exposure to kryptonite. That could become problematic if he actually did have to take Super Boy down...]
You were about to use your freeze breath before I stopped you.
[He glared accusingly.]
no subject
the fact that damian thinks he would have done that also ticks him off a little, but he doesn't say anything to that extent; instead, jon reaches for damian's utility belt, tries to pull it off of him. ) Hand it over! That stupid batarang!
no subject
You took a deep breath like you did with those Ogres! What was I supposed to think-- Wha--! Stop that!
[He shoved a hand in the boy's face trying to push him away and slapped his hands away with the other. And of course, you can't just yank a bats belt off without consequence. But he never really tested his belt's security tazer on a Kryptonian before...]
If you don't try to attack me again I won't use it!
no subject
( damian's hands push his face away, which is fine, because he doesn't need his face to yank on his belt. the taser system works, obviously, but it's not nearly strong enough to do shit to jon.
maybe damian should anti-kryptonian his belt if he's going to keep shit in it that kryptonians aren't going to be happy with him having. ) How'm I supposed to trust you not to use it when you just did? ( he keeps yanking on it, pulling hard enough to hopefully dislodge it from damian's waist, without actually damaging him. )
no subject
How was I supposed to know you wouldn't!? We've only just met! And I only used it because you were attacking!
[Damian barked back at him, gritting his teeth when the pulling set off the tazer but Kent kept yanking it making it dig into him until it ripped free.]
Listen to me! What if something happens and you turn! You say you won't hurt anyone, and I want to think you really won't, but it's naive to think that, especially in this place! [He glared at him, clenching his fist at his side.]
no subject
You can have it back when you stop acting like a jerk. ( so, never. ) Would you let someone have something like this if it effected you? ( it's probably not a fair comparison; jon is, when his abilities are working, near indestructible, stronger than any human, faster. ) I'll find an adult to give it to for now.
no subject
Who? The only two adults here that you know are teenagers and are as allergic to green rocks as you are. More so if they aren't half human like you.
[He thought to tell him to give it to Drake, but he wasn't sure if this Drake's common sense out weighed his loyalty to the Kryptonian that claimed they were friends. Whatever, he had a clear image of it in his head, maybe he can get another one from the closets... If Kent was going to go blabbing to the other Kryptonians that Damian had brought their possible destruction into this world, he was probably going to need all he could get.]
no subject
it still doesn't compare to kryptonite though. but damian was raised different; who knows the kinda stuff he was put through. ) I'll think about it.
( in the meantime, he slips the pouch into his jeans' back pocket. what's damian gonna do, take it from him? )
no subject
Possibly to form plans for the general destruction of whatever planet you're on and the genocide of all its residents... or exchange pie recipes. Regardless! For a species that is supposed to be practically extinct, 3 in one place was far too many for Damian.
His eyes followed where Jon put the pouch, then moved back to Jon's face, his mask concealing the movement. He could probably snatch it without Jon noticing... but not right now. The boy was too self-aware at the moment, but it was still good to keep tabs on it in case the closets failed to produce.
In fact, maybe it was wise to lay some ground work for a contingency.]
...Look, it comes down to this. You can't trust me with it and I can't trust you without it. So I'll strike you a deal Super Boy.
[He paused to see if he was grabbing Kent's interest.]
no subject
and it's stupid, that damian doesn't trust him. what is jon going to do--use his superpowers for evil and take over wonderland? he doesn't want to hurt anyone, and while self control is still something he's learning, he is learning it. he presses his lips together, considers how he'd feel if he was in damian's shoes: human, facing a half alien with enough strength to rip him in two if said alien really wanted to. )
What kind of deal? ( still stupid, but fine, whatever. he doesn't have to go for damian's deal anyway, if he doesn't want to. )
no subject
He pressed his hands in front of him and took a breath, before schooling his face to come off as less threatening. It probably looked as painful as it felt right now.]
The issue is trust. So I propose a trust building. You don't go running to the other Kryptonian with the Kryptonite and I'll... [Shoot... what can he offer? What would he even have the Kent could want? He already had everything. The strength. The family that loved him. The overall likable personality. Taller!
...Stupid Kent. Was letting him have Kryptonite as a defense really that bad--Stop, this is getting off track.]
I don't know... [He dropped the look in his mild frustration.] What would you like from me? [Kent came to his aid so there must be something?]
no subject
but he doesn't need to go to kara with it, does he? yes, she's the only adult adult he knows and thinks he can trust, even if she doesn't quite remember him. jon isn't quite sure why damian is so worried about them finding out he brought it here, but. )
We're a team. And you have to stop being so mean. ( which was part of his condition for giving it back to damian, but that's irrelevant. damian can stop being mean and still be a jerk, and jon really doubts he's going to unlearn being a jerk any time soon. )
no subject
He resisted the urge to cringe when Kent called them a team again and settled for just looking away.]
Tt... and what constitutes as "mean" to you? Because you seem to have a low tolerance for certain touches of sarcasm.
no subject
You're fine as you usually are. There's no point in it if you have to change who you are, is there? Just don't be a jerk about it.
( not all of us were raised by a league of assassins and treated like an adult since we were old enough to walk and talk. jon understands that damian's parents' were a lot different than his, and damian is. . used to a different standard of mannerisms than he is. )
no subject
But Damian wasn't normal and to believe he ever would be was a naive dream. So when Kent said this, it actually made Damian lower his arms and slowly turn his gaze back towards Jon. His expression though still looked guarded.]
I need an example. 'Don't be a jerk" is frustratingly vague.
no subject
( that's pretty self-explanatory, isn't it. he isn't quite sure how else to explain being a jerk--so hopefully, that's. enough. but they've been standing out here in ogre land for far long enough, so he turns to continue walking back towards the castle. it's a little stupid, walking at a normal person's pace when he could just speed his way back, but damian obviously did not want damian to carry him back, and he's not going to speed off without him.
even if damian did just almost kill him. ) You hungry? I could go for hot pockets about now.
