+ For Glory! For Death! +
Who: EVERYONE & Unwanted Guests
Where: The Grounds & The Palace
When: August 27th to 29th
Rating: PG-13 to R for fighting, violence, and death
Summary: Attackers from other realms threaten the Asgardian palace and your very lives! This is where you fight or flee, the place for all your combat mingle needs.
The Story:
+ Day 3 : Rock Trolls and Ogres +

Rock Trolls and Ogres are strong, tough and surprisingly fast, with great muscular bulk. Their sight is keen, and they hunger for human flesh. Fortunately they are lacking in tactical skill, and few to none will manage to break through Asgard's protective barrier to enter the palace. ( x ) ( x )
+ Day 4 : Frost Giants +

The Forst Giants will scare off yesterday's attackers almost entirely, bringing a greater threat to the palace. They are faster and stronger still, and skilled in cryokinesis. One touch by their hand might freeze a warrior whole, if they don't stop the spread of cold on time. Several of their numbers will manage to break through Asgard's protective barrier to enter the palace. ( x )
+ Day 5 : Dark Elves +

The Dark Elves are the last and greatest threat to Asgard. They rely on stealth and deadly energy weapons, their strength and craftiness yet unparalleled. They are weak to iron, and any warrior would be lucky to discover this weakness on time. They infiltrate the palace from the caves, and nearly all of their numbers will attack from the inside. ( x )

[Though the knowledge that Kent was fine being a hum--Alie-- hybrid shield, was very good to know. Still, Jon would likely want more of an answer. Why are you so demanding, Kent?] I was running an experiment. The closest here give you what you desire and I built that from some stuff I scavenged from them. I wanted to see if the materials here were reliable. Did you not get a brochure?
[And before Kent could even ask what he was 99% sure the boy was thinking, Damian raised a hand to stop him.] And no, the closets won't give you, your parents. So don't bother asking.
no subject
( it's a genuine question--at least until he realizes how stupid that sounded. yes, jon knew about the closets. yes, he knew it wasn't going to give him his parents. a magic closet isn't going to just summon people. thanks for that, damian. ) Doesn't that count as murder? That ogre definitely isn't coming back from that. .
( and no murder was a rule, wasn't it. do ogres count as thingsyou shouldn't kill? maybe he should ask kara, she'd have a better idea of what's on the "never" and "situational" list of creatures that count enough as people to not be killed. . he hasn't even tried starting a conversation with one of them yet, maybe he shouldn't have thrown that one and froze the rest. )
no subject
[The boy's next question though... made Damian nearly facepalm. He settles for clenching his fist.]
The rule only applies to humans. At least in my family's case. Your family perhaps has exceptions for aliens, but from what I've seen, if it's alien and trying to kill you, even your family starts breaking out the heat vision. [He points to Jon's eyes then flicks some Ogre chunk off his nose.]
But if it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure they're all just magical summons. I've heard this place does that a lot.
no subject
It doesn't really make me feel better, but. . ( these ogres don't seem like they're very. . uh, what's the word? self-awareness? and one almost killed damian as it is, so. ) Do you want me to finish freezing all the ones in this area? ( he's not quite sure why he's asking damian. it's not as if he needs damian's permission to do anything. damian's not his boss, or his leader, or--whatever!
but he already asked, so he'll wait for his answer. )
no subject
Okay, Damian definitely smirked at that. Yes Kent, continue to tell yourself he isn't your leader. It's fine though, because until you are ready to admit it, he'll gladly be your enabler.]
As I keep trying to tell you. You no longer have to ask permission to be super, Superboy. Do you want to put the monsters in their place? They are here to eat people after all.
[Not that it mattered. The monsters couldn’t make it past the barriers to the civilians. The only reason Damian was out here was for his experiment.
Still, Damian wasn’t going to pass up the chance to see Kent cut loose.]
no subject
( are they really doing any damage out here? they can't get in, they're only hurting people who wander outside the barrier, aren't they? he takes a step back, bends his knees, and jumps up high, taking a look at just how many ogres there are. he's quick to decide the answer is too many to count--and that's enough of an answer for him. he lands with a soft thump, teetering back on his heels as he presses his hands to his hips. )
They're not hurting anyone. Aside from you, but you came out here on purpose. Shouldn't we just go back inside if they're not causing trouble. . ?
no subject
Tt, they would not have hurt me. I told you, I had it. [Damian frowned at him, then folded his arms. The whites of his mask slit as he looked at the boy for a long pause, seeming to consider his words.]
Very well, it's probably your nap time about now anyway. Have you selected a room yet?
no subject
( why do you always gotta be like this, damian. his hands drop from his waist, hands coming together in front of him for a moment before he lets them simply fall to his side. )
Do you want a lift back? ( he wasn't going to offer since damian was being rude, but it's rude to not offer considering how slow damian moves in comparison, isn't it? even if damian is being. damian. )
no subject
He might've jumped the gun and assumed Kent had planned to grab him right then and there, but something felt different. Kent seemed more familiar with him? Patient?]
Who said I was going back to? When... was the last time you've seen me? Before coming here I mean.
no subject
( he's not quite sure why damian is asking, but--also why the heck is damian swatting his hands away, he hasn't done anything? was he expecting him do to something? should he? it wouldn't be that hard, to scruff damian and lift him off of his feet and start something but also this really isn't the place for it.
he can't fight damian and make sure no other ogres come by, he'll get distracted. ) I'm not just gonna leave while you're still here. We're a team, right?
no subject
"We're a team, right?"
Damian snapped out of his thoughts and grabbed the front of Kent's shirt. There was mild irk that he actually had to pull Kent down to be eye level-- but Damian swallowed that down.]
Who told you that?
no subject
Oh, sorry, I must have you confused with another super short Robin. ( his arms cross over his chest, eyes rolling before they focus back down on damian, lips turning up into a small smirk. ) But you're the only one, aren't you? All the other Robins're . . ( he looks up a bit, doing his best to mentally picture just how tall they were, but--it's not like he's met any of them personally, so. )
no subject
Damian was about to growl out an explanation for his behavior. That yes, Jon just might have the wrong Robin but paused when Jon seemed to follow-- A smirk crossed the other boy's lips, then-- Oh, no you did not. His eye twitched behind his mask and Damian started to yell up at him.]
THEY ARE GROWN MEN AND MEANT TO BE TALL, YOU ABOMINATION!
[Your alien DNA is just hacking the natural order! THAT IS THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE REASON FOR WHY YOU ARE SO TALL AT ONLY 10! He gripped Jon's shoulders and planted a foot in his stomach to kick him.]
((ooc: I really gotta get unlazy and make more icons.))
no subject
thank you, invulnerability. jon leans into damian, bends his neck back before moving it forward in a quick motion to shove his forehead against damian's own--gently by his standards, because the last thing he wants to do is crack damian's skull open with his skull. )
Have you ever considered being less of a jerk?!
no subject
Tt! Why? Am I hurting your feelings? Wanna go cry to mommy? Oh, wait she isn't HERE!
[Damian mock gasped.]
no subject
this stupid jerk. he raises a fist, rethinks slamming his knuckles into damian at full power and instead reaches out with his fingers extended, pushes hard against his chest with all of his strength to get him to back off. )
You are so mean!!
( a big breath in, because he isn't finished yet. )
What did I ever do to you, huh?! I came out here to help you and--and this is what I get! You know what, fine! Stay out here all by yourself! I'm sooo sorry if my calling us a team offended you! If my asking if you wanted help was rude! I was just trying to help! I won't make that mistake again!
no subject
He looked up and saw the boy was coming towards him. 'Good.' He gave a chuckle, but it was breathless. When Kent took a breath, Damian might've had a flash of panic, thinking back to the Ogres just moments ago and how Kent just froze them with a single breath.
'No, if you want to go Kent, we are making this a fair fight!'
Hastily he reached into his belt, pulling out a glowing green Batarang and sharply threw it at the advancing Alien.]
Shut up and catch!
[Damian jumped back on his feet and sprung to tackle Jon to the ground while he was distracted.]
no subject
jon doesn't really have the time to be concerned with the whys and hows though--not when damian's tackling him down shortly after it starts. he gives a startled sound in the back of his throat, easily topples over onto the ground and squirms under him, the hand not directly touching the batarang raising a bit to try and push it out from the slightly curled fingers of his hand.
his body feels exhausted, pains coming with every beat of his heart and-- ) --the hell, Damian?!
no subject
Shut up!
[He growled, a firm hand pushed down on Jon's chest, his other moving to take the Batarang out of Jon's hand and fisted his own hand around it. Raising the clenched fist around the Batarang, intent to punch Jon right across his smug looking face-- Only, it wasn't looking so smug right now...]
You’re just--!
[a--a--! Damian felt him brain stutter. From this close he could see the slight puff still around Jon's eyes from crying earlier and even possibly new forming of tears in the corners. Not to mention the way he could feel Jon's heart pounding like a scared bird trapped in a cage from where Damian’s hand held firmly down on his chest. His clench fist hung in the air, hesitant to strike down. He could make Kent bleed. Make him truly hurt. So why wouldn't his fist move?!
Then it hit him. Just how helpless Jon was without his powers. Hell, even with them, Jon was still a scared kid that just wanted his parents. This was no fair fight. In that instant he could think of exactly 30 ways to kill Kent with just this Batarang. The mind set of an assassin. Strip Damian’s toys away and he could still kill someone, but strip Jon of his powers and you would just be abusing...]
...a child...
[An alien child sure, but still a child. A cold feeling formed in his stomach. He let out a frustrated snarl, pulling back and putting the kryptonite back in his belt.
He starred down at Jon silently, raised his hand again...then gently flicked his nose.]
Stand up. This isn’t the place to start a fight.
no subject
damian's hand poises against him, and even with the batarang this far away from him, jon's condition isn't recovering at all. he takes a few shallow breaths through his nose, digs his fingers into the dirt beside him in some last ditch effort to drag himself away from that.
he's weak. weaker than he's ever been before--and for someone like jon, raised up on a farm, constantly lifting and moving heavy things, pushing animals around to get them to where they needed to be--he wasn't superhuman, but he was always a little stronger than the average kid. for someone like him, the realization that he can't even push off this tiny thirteen year old is absolutely terrifying.
even when damian talks down to him, calls him nothing but a child, jon can't do anything against him. he can't lift his arm, can't punch him square in the jaw like he should be doing. it takes a few more moments after the kyptonite has been put away for him to start feeling like normal again.
his nose scrunches up when damian flicks it, brows furrowing as he shifts to press a palm down against the dirt once he's had enough time to sit down and just. breathe. pulls himself back together. )
Why do you--even have that? What's wrong with you?! ( he's trying to sound pissed, angry, but there's a shaky cadence to his voice, and his tone's still--quiet. jon balances his weight against that palm, tries to push himself up, but he's not being very successful at it. ) Just. . go away, Damian!
no subject
Still...
"We're a team, right?"]
Tt...
[He scowled but grabbed Jon's arm, drawing it over his shoulder and pulled the boy to his feet.]
...I wasn’t offended.
no subject
self-control is important, but it's something that jon's still leaning. instead, he just leans all of his weight down against damian--because if he can't push him away, he'll just weigh him down. )
Precaution against what? Against me? ( said as if he wasn't just punching and pushing damian around, but whatever, damian started it. ) I bet your dad would be mad if he knew you had that.
no subject
No instead he stopped to pick Kent up so they could move faster, holding the larger boy in a princess' carry towards the barrier-- Come on Kent, move it, there are flesh eating Ogres out here! Also were all Kryptonians this dense or has Jon just been eating too much Hicksville pies?]
My father is the one that made that device as a precaution against your father.
[He said stone faced even as he carried the larger boy.]
So yes Super Boy. I started carrying one as well in case your judgments were ever impaired, such as mind control or if you just plain decided to use your powers to harm me or others. Like you did just a few moments ago.
no subject
jon shifts his weight, moves to roll himself right out of his arms because nah, he's not dealing with this. what if someone sees them like this? that'd be the worst. his knees hit the ground in front of damian when he tumbles out of his arms, but he's quick to get himself back up to his feet, dusting off the dirt from his legs. )
You started it. I wasn't even hitting you that hard. ( he was holding back. . at least a decent amount. jon's usually holding back to some extent, because who knows how hard he could hit if he didn't. )
no subject
I take it you're done slacking then?
[He signalled for Jon to continue walking since his legs were finally working. Though Damian did make a mental note of how quickly the boy seemed to recover from exposure to kryptonite. That could become problematic if he actually did have to take Super Boy down...]
You were about to use your freeze breath before I stopped you.
[He glared accusingly.]
