+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: GENERAL NON-PARTY MINGLE POST +
Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: Everywhere that isn't one of the parties! Both Sides!
When: Sept 1st to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Wonderful parties are springing up all across Wonderland, but there are still plenty of other places to explore. This is a log for any new arrivals who want to experience different parts of Wonderland life, and any current guests not in the mood for a log or transmission of their own.
Please also see THE FOURTH WALL MASTER POST for rules, information, and all the fun parties you can visit!
The Story:

On the morning of September 1st, everyone in Wonderland, on both Real and Mirror Side, will awake to find one of four possible invitations has been shoved under their doors. The glass has been carefully removed from all mirrors, and everyone will be able to cross to and from Mirror Side with ease, without forcing any sort of swap. The Queen of Hearts' chambers, discovered in the previous event, will be mysteriously inaccessible, leading only to a tearoom.
Additionally, there will be many more Wonderland guests than usual, each of them with their own random invitation and network device (wired to make replies only). As the week goes on, as per the invitations, more and more parties will appear (and everyone is invited to all of them, whether they received an invitation or not). But who brought them here? Why are there so many parties? Who is responsible for all of this exactly?
It's anyone's guess, though if parties or riddles are not your style, then there is always plenty more to see...

Bruce Banner (mirror) » open!
His counterpart, in that boringly unsurprising way he has about him, had covered up his mirror even before Bruce managed to get a good glimpse of him and his bedroom, but it didn't matter. Well, it frustrated and angered him to no end, but there were plenty of other mirrors on the real side for him to peek through. If that pathetic excuse for a man thought Bruce hadn't been keeping an eye on him and everyone else around him, then he was very much wrong.
He made no plans, though. He just watched. And now, finally, he's on this side.
He's here without plans either, at least so far. He knows his opposite well enough to know he's probably hiding in one of his holes somewhere, so Bruce feels more or less at ease here, walking around Wonderland as if it were his own place. Seemingly much more comfortable and confident to those who might know him, he can be found literally anywhere on the mansion or grounds, looking, exploring, but most of all: watching you. ]
((ooc: just as a note, mirror!Bruce is really not a very good person, his attitude might touch subjects such as threats, abuse of various sorts, fear inducement, among other stuff. Just a heads up in case you want to tag him, but feel free to PM me and ask me to keep away from any specific subjects!))
/just stalks you everywhere apparently. Also open on permissions, no warnings required for whatever
As Bruce's "EXPLORE ALL THE PLACES" journey brings him to the labspace, Fitz looks up from his computer only briefly. Everything is awkward and terrible between them now; he quickly focuses back on his calculations.]
.... Doctor Banner.
[It's a small acknowledgement, not intended to start conversation. Bruce doesn't ever seem particularly interested in having one in the first place.]
uhuhuhuuhuhu yes good
Bruce recognizes the man sitting there almost immediately. He's also perfectly aware that things are supposed to be awkward between them (mirrors everywhere, remember?), but he's not particularly interested in pretending to be his real counterpart. Not this time, anyway. ]
Fitz. [ His voice is almost singsong, as he pointedly makes his way over, standing close enough that he can get a glimpse of that computer screen. ] What are you working on?
I just can't quit you ;-;
Bruce sounds entirely too happy to be Bruce. It ought to be a burning red flag, but Fitz assumes it's more that Bruce just wants something built. Everyone's nicer when they need a favor.]
You already know what I'm working on, Doctor Banner. You disapprove of it highly.
[And so does everyone, apparently.
no subject
But he's all for making things crystal clear, so he leans down, his head nearer to Fitz's, a hand landing firmly on a shoulder. ]
I'm sure I do, [ He speaks in a lower tone now. ] Because I'm such a stick in the mud sometimes. But why don't you just show me again? I may have changed my mind.
no subject
You're one of them.....!
[He fumbles, scrambling to push away from Bruce and get to his feet. He's never seen a Wonderland mirror creature before. They're absolutely identical, it seems. It's uncanny.]

trololol all aboard the bad idea train, 7th floor!
Hey! Did you see we have tea now in the coffee shop? Like a whole wall of it? So, I guess it's not really a coffee shop anymore, or it's some 2.0 version.
no subject
[ He slows down in his tracks, looking the girl over in silence, hands tucked into his pockets. It takes him a moment to place her in his memory, mostly because her mirror's so very unremarkable, and he hasn't really watched much of her through the mirrors. ]
Ah. [ The coffee girl. Right. ] I'll have to come by that coffee shop sometime, then.
[ He's not even trying to sound like his real self here. He's been having far too much fun with the confused looks he gets, then the air of worry and panic when people realize who he really is. ]
no subject
Yeah, he's done a very good job at not masking who he is and she's been around long enough that it doesn't take long for the pieces to fall into place. This... wasn't good. She doesn't attempt to fake that she didn't recognize him for what he was, knowing her face had probably already betrayed her. Downside of sucking at poker. ]
Or not. Thought you were someone else, someone who likes tea and actually belongs on this side.
[ She knows pretty much nothing about Bruce's mirror, so maybe it's not best to rescind the sort of invitation she'd extended. Too late now. ]
no subject
Also, he doesn't bother trying to hide it. Darcy's Mirror version is a poor excuse of an existence, he has to wonder how much more entertaining the Real version must be. ]
Oh, that's your mistake. [ He's amused when he says that, scornful, mocking. ] You see, he doesn't belong anywhere. He never has.
no subject
A hand moves to rest on her hip, head cocking slightly to the side. Good, he was mocking her. This was nice. Bonding. ]
I'm not gonna debate someone's worth or value when the one I'm arguing with was literally created by a psycho queen who has a thing for life-size barbies on crack. [ Darcy, no. ]

All terrible things are GO! :D
The Mirrors wandering over to their side, however, is something new and undiscovered so far. It's not something she's anticipating when she glances up to see Bruce walk through the door.
Which is why she glances up to offer him a wave in invitation before she pauses, her gaze narrowed slightly as she takes in the subtle differences in his manner and posturing this morning. ]
no subject
Despite the wave that never comes and the suspicious look she throws at him, he makes his way over, sliding onto the seat opposite hers, smile in place. ]
Natasha, [ If everything in his posture and mannerisms wasn't enough to give him away, his airy tone of voice certainly is. He's not even trying, honestly. ] I was hoping to run into you sometime.
no subject
[ Quick to make the distinction, she straightens a little in her chair, hands folded on the table in front of her as she watches him, takes in... well, everything really. It's easy to tell he's not even bothering to try and fool her, which at least shows he's not an idiot.
Instead she plays mildly coy and curious as she assesses him. ]
Were you? Well, here I am.
no subject
I don't get a first name treatment? Aw. That wounds me.
[ Said as if this version of Bruce could even have his feelings wounded. A deliberate pause, he weighs his words, then decides to have a bit more fun. What is she gonna do, punch him? Right. She's not that stupid. ]
I assume a massage is off the table too...?
no subject
It was never on the table. For you.
[ Was that blunt enough for you? ]

destroy me pls?
it's probably rather easy for this not-quite-bruce to get a closer look at the various stages of research and stalled theories jane's circle of scientists and interns has done on the aether. ...does that one report really say that darcy and jane made progress via glitter? oh dear. ]
Seriously? I had everything over here organized already...
[ goggles cocked atop her head, jane is facing away from the door and lamenting what looks to be a nicely-cleaned up workstation as if somehow the tidiness is an affront to science and humankind. in irritation, she lobs an empty bottle of what had once been some solution over her shoulder, and doesn't notice as it sails toward her newest labmate. ]
your wish is my command
Besides, this time Bruce is approaching the matter in a different way. He really loathes his real version, but maybe it's time he tries a little acting to see if that gets him anything good.
It starts off well, at least. There's definitely a bit of surprise when she throws that bottle over her shoulder, and he startles slightly, lifting his hands to catch it. ]
Jesus—!
[ He pulls a smile, ducking his head a little. ]
Little more warning next time would be nice.
<333
[ her exclamation comes on the heels of bruce's, and jane winces at his comment before whirling to greet him. ]
I'm so sorry-- [ she can't help but chuckle, and claps her hand over her mouth. ] You OK? Darcy says I should've been a pitcher...
no subject
I think Darcy might be right. [ An air of amusement to his tone, he sets the bottle down on a clean counter nearby. ] So, uh... what were you so upset about?
no subject
[ a corner of jane's mouth lifts in a vaguely apologetic gesture, as if she's anticipating whatever degree of mockery her work habits might produce. then she gestures to the pile of messy papers beside the laptop. ]
At least it's all here, still. Have you made any more progress on removal options?

do your worst.
[ She closes her eyes, shakes her head. Too familiar. She needs to meet the real him first before jumping in like that. ] Sorry. Doctor Banner, I mean. We... we knew each there, but we've yet to meet as our actual selves.
[ There's an uneasy smile as she tries to appear as nonthreatening and non-psycho-ice-bitch as possible. ] I understand if you'd rather I just... go.
no subject
Both versions were eerily close, from what little Bruce knows. At the very least they were similar in appearance, but Caitlin's Real version is very much distinct. Enough that it gives him a slight pause before he turns to smile at her. ]
Miss Frost. Oh— wait. Was it Snow? Sorry. I get the two mixed up sometimes.
no subject
[ There's an itch to correct her title, an old habit that had died hard (but died) back home. While the title still holds weight, it's something she's moved away from insisting on, even as her reputation improved after Dr. Wells' "disappearance." And here, the title would put them on parity.
Insisting on it now would be pedantic and inappropriate when she's trying to make an apology. ]
I wanted to apologize, Dr. Banner. I know many of us weren't exactly ourselves during that... event, myself very much included. But I certainly don't think it excuses that behavior at all. The taunting and the ridicule. Abusing someone.
[ She closes her eyes, shakes her head. ] It's appalling.
no subject
His eyebrows raise minutely as she apologizes for her behavior. Oh, he remembers that behavior all too well, of course— it had been more than just a little entertaining for him, really, and he finds it somewhat grating that she's actually sorry for it. ]
That's a shame. [ His voice is light and airy, and his lips twitch into an insincere smile. ] I can't believe you're actually apologizing for having been minimally interesting.
